Very low BBT pre-ovulation

I've read that BBT pre-ovulation should be between 36.1 - 36.4 degrees C. This is what I normally experience.

However, this cycle, (I am currently in my follicular phase cycle day 5), all my temps have been around 35.01 - 35.45 degrees C.

I've never had temps so low before! Really concerned. Has anyone else had this?

I did suffer mild whiplash last week but don't know if that could have maybe stressed my body out somehow and affected my temps.

I personally don't think bbt is reliable. My temps vary greatly. Taken at same time upon wakening ect and they are just all over the place. I have so many dips and rises . I haven't ovulated yet but already had 2 big dips this cycle. I think this is the last cycle I will use bbt. Might work for some but personally does not work for everyone. At my last ovulation there was no dip and rise before and after ovulation

I know that BBT doesn't work for everyone, but I've been temping for over a year and it's always been so stable and consistent. Just don't know what's happening this cycle! 😩

If its not something you usually experience then i suppose there could be any underlying reason . How are you feeling now with regards to your whiplash ? Is it having any noticeable effect on your wellbeing? Whiplash would definitely put some strain on the body.
Are you using opks? If not I'd probably track with those alongside your bbt. You might just experience a different dip in degree this month if you ovulate compared to others.

I'm almost recovered but not feeling 100% as of yet.

I do use opks as well so will definitely be continuing to do so. I'm hoping I'll still ovulate and it's just a one off cycle due to the stress my body has been put under.

Just to update on this in case anyone sees this in the future, turns out my thermometer wasn't working properly and was out by about 1 degree. Got a new one and all my temps are normal again!
