Ovulation? Or should I be concerned?

So I'm on cycle day 14 and my apps are saying I'm ovulating but I don't test so I can't say for sure.

However late late last night I went to the toilet and had brown discharge when I wiped. This morning again wiped and it was a darker brown with some pink tinges. Then this evening I've been to the toilet and wiped and it's brown and red mixture. Also when I woke this morning I felt as sick as anything and then all day I've had an uncomfortable feeling in my lower abdomen and hip area. Also pinching in my left side.

Is this ovulation? Or should I be concerned. I've heard of ovulation spotting but never ever experienced it. This is what the latest wipe looks like. My last 'period' was 16th Feb and lasted 24 hours. So surely it can't be the start of my period coming already?

How old are you and is your health otherwise OK?

I'm not an expert, but I would say a 24 hour period and then this much blood at ovulation isn't normal. I would speak to your GP about it.

I would say the last ‘period’ wasn’t a period and it is your period starting now. Very few people ovulate on day 14. Google tracking ovulation and you will be able to follow it more accurately than an arbitrary number.

I'm 28 and relatively healthy. Never had any health concerns before.

I did have a phone consultation with my GP yesterday and explained everything (but this was before the spotting started) and he wasn't very helpful, just said to book in for a blood test 🤦🏼‍♀️

My cycle this month has been very odd. I was due on the 6th Feb but didn't get anything until the 16th Feb which is when I had the 24 hour bleed then nothing since until the brown spotting last night and then today. The spotting is never enough to go on my underwear, only when I wipe.

Thank you, see I have tried googling it but I'm not going to lie I read so many different things I just never really know. But yes I did wonder if maybe an actual period might come with the last not being normal. But then at the same time I thought could it be Ovulation.

Have you done an actual pregnancy test?

I had an unusual period before I found out I was pregnant with DD

I did a test maybe 5 to 6 days after that 1 day period and it was Negative so assumed if I was it would show up by then, so since then haven't bothered to do another test 🙂
