6 days late

Hi everyone, I'm currently 6 days late. Fertility week was between 07th - 16th (supposedly, I know it can be slightly out). Me and my husband ttc baby number 3, but not trying too much just going with the flow of things. The only times this month we tried were 14th and 20th. I'm feeling the odd sicky but nothing too much, but having A LOT of headaches. Done a couple of tests, all negatives. Not sure what to do now really as don't want to keep running out and buying tests unnecessarily. How long do you leave it before you consult a doctor about a period if at all? I've never ever missed a period before and no matter how stressed i have been i always come on a day or two either side of my periods due date. Has this happened to anyone else before? I thought by now if I was pregnant it would be showing on a test even if it was just slightly.

Thanks :)

You could have ovulated late or it’s not that uncommon to occasionally have an off cycle or miss ovulation altogether. If you’re 6 days late and getting negatives you’re unlikely to be pregnant

It could still be too early for tests if you ovulated towards the end of your predicted fertile window. Let's say you ovulated on the 16th (sperm from the 14th could still be hanging out in your fallopian tubes) you would be 12dpo today. Testing with a sensitive test like FRER would likely give you a positive by now but if you used a different test, it might be too soon for a positive.

There is also the possibility that you ovulated later this cycle and you may have caught around the 20th which would make you only 8dpo which is far too early to test.

It might be an idea to track ovulation as you can time things better and know when to start testing.

@Twoinapod its possible i guess i just thought 6 days later with a first response you would surely be able to detect by now.

@WutheringMights its possible isnt it. I did think with a first response by now it would show even the faintest of lines but nothing.

opinions - How long would you leave this now before testing again if at all

Hold off testing until Thursday morning and use a FRER if you have any.

@WutheringMights sounds like a plan, or even Friday!
