How long did it take?

Sorry I’m sure this has been asked on here a million times but I haven’t found a thread in the immediate few.

We have been trying for only 2 months and I’m ashamed to say I’ve cried with each period I’ve got. I didn’t realise I wanted a baby this badly and keep thinking I’ve got symptoms or my period is slightly late or I spot first and then it comes on heavily.

I have one son who came from ‘pulling out’ slightly too late with my ex and for some reason I thought it would be dead easy.

I know it’s only been two months I was just wondering how long it took everyone else?

Third cycle with my first and we weren’t using ovulation sticks or anything - just roughly timing the days. I was 37. Currently about to start third cycle for #2, used ovulation sticks last month and will continue to do so. I’m 39 now and slightly less healthy so settling in for a bit of a wait 😔

Just under a year for current pregnancy, with two miscarriages in that time.

16 months TTC#1.

On month 8 of TTC#2 now and I’m 28.

Similar to @Pinkplasticbathcup

Conceived on 3rd cycle with 1st at age 32 and had just come off pill.

Currently on 3rd cycle of TTC 2nd aged 36.

I think it's taken until now this time to pin point my ovulation think the first 2 months we were a bit early. I think after years of trying not to we are all suprised when I doesn't happen that first month or two

We have been extremely lucky in getting pregnant the first month of trying for each of our 3 DC's, however I know this is rare and we have been very fortunate.

fairgame84 · 28/02/2023 16:57

5 months dc1, 14 months dc2.

Tusktusk · 28/02/2023 17:01

14 months DC1. First try DC2.

Almost 3 years, (started ttc when 25, DH 30- who had a son from a previous one night stand lol!!) and after all that - it was DHs sperm issue and we ended up having IVF with ICSI and pregnant after our first round 🤍

I do remember how upsetting those first 6-12 months not conceiving tbh. We assumed it would happen right away due to DHs son. Which almost hurts even more so I completely get it! I found myself consuming a bottle of wine each time I’d get my period lol x

SquashPenguin · 28/02/2023 17:13

Five years and counting, still no baby.

Tisfortired · 28/02/2023 17:17

DS1 - complete accident, was on contraception
DS2 - over 5 years of trying and 3 MCs before he arrived

Emmamoo89 · 28/02/2023 20:25

Third cycle

The best advice I can give you is not stressing about perhaps doing things wrong and thinking maybe this and that is why it is not happening! 18 months post miscarriage and I wish I didn’t drive myself crazy. If you have regular cycles dtd every other day after your period and it will happen if it is going to happen. At 6 months you can do some blood tests privately or after a year with your GP. Good luck! Still crying 18 months later every time after AF shows up :(
