Conception date help

Hi all

just a bit confused at the moment and need some help

I have long cycles up to 45 days sometimes longer and I track ovulation with Ovulation test but recently I haven’t been doing them as much as I should

I had unprotected sex on day 7 of my cycle just at the end of my period.. and then again several times in the month when my ovulation tests showed peak which is usually around day 18 as I have long cycles

would it be virtually impossible to have conceived on day 7 based on the fact I have long cycles?

also when would you expect an early response pregnancy test to show positive after sex? I’m talking how many days after sex not time after missed period?

And for context please don’t judge ☹️ this is a situation I’ve got myself in with my on and off partner and a ‘friend’

I’m not pregnant that I know off as not due on yet

the ‘friend’ was on the 7th day and my on and off partner mid cycle.

I did a first response test yesterday which is 15 days after sex with the friend .. it was negative . Is that accurate at this point ?

I wouldn’t say it was impossible. Could be either, just wait until you have or don’t have a positive test, no point worrying for nothing. If it is positive, then they may be able to date via the scan, but will probably have to be a dna test to know for sure.

I would say it’s not impossible but it is unlikely, especially given you have long cycles. It’s hard to say how many days after sex as sperm survives inside you up to 5 days and then implantation can can take up to 12 days. If your ovulation tests showed a peak mid cycle then that’s when you ovulated so any conception would be around then.

Yes, it's virtually impossible for the sex you had on day 7 to have led to a pregnancy if your test is negative 15 days later.

Thanks all.. I have been tracking ovulation for a long time now and I have never ovulated as early as I would have had to if I was to fall pregnant from sex on day 7

I do know that anything can happen though and no we weren’t using contraception silly I know

I have longer cycles too (ranging from 35-45) and I don't ovulate until at least day 21 or more so I'd say CD7 is unlikely

Can anyone help with reading a first response test result please? I’ve never posted on here before! I should be due on in about 4 days I think but haven’t been feeling right. I have longer cycles around 32 days. I’ve done a first response test and got this - but it looks more like a shadow than a line? Plus I have normal period pains!? Very confused!!!! Thank you anyone for your help.

It looks like a very faint line to me, test again in 2 days and see if a darker line comes up. Fingers crossed for you x
