Hey, I am going to take my first lot of clomid on my next cycle which is due in 4 days, my consultant (we have gone private) has advised that I will need a scan day 6 or 7 into my cycle to check I dont have too many follicles, has everyone else been advised of this? And has any one had any successes, as I already ovulate so not even sure why hes recommended it me, but willing to try anything after 18 months of no luck!

Hi, didn't want to read and run! Yes I've done Clomid before, they scan to check you don't have too many follicles as clomid can over stimulate your ovaries increasing your chance of multiples.

Clomid worked for me but unfortunately ended in a miscarriage at 16 weeks. I ovulated on day 21 and got a positive test on 12DPO after testing on negative on 10DPO.

Good luck Smile

I am so very sorry to hear about your loss, I can't even begin to imagine.

I have a scan on saturday cycle day 10 to see if my folicles have grown, but as I already ovulate, I have a feeling its made me grow too many and I wont be able to try this month which will of been a waste of money. I really dont see why hes prescribed me with clomid when I already ovulate at the same time each month. xx

My second DS is a clomid baby! 😆 It worked on the second cycle but it took my body a few weeks after taking the clomid to ovulate but for me that was a huge improvement from only ovulating every few months or more! Good luck, I hope it works for you 😊

Hey OP!

I ovulate normally but after trying for 18 months my specialist started me on clomid.

I also had an HSG and DH started on some sperm supplements.

They checked my progesterone on month 1 and it was 75 so I likely ovulate 2 eggs.

This month my progesterone was 39 and... I got my bfp yesterday!

20 months of trying and I think clomid was the key.

I'm currently taking Clomid, I had my scan for the first cycle at 14 days. I've been diagnosed with PCOS and it's my first cycle with it, just currently waiting for ovulation! CD17 today...

I noticed a bit of a change in mood when I was taking it but settled down now. Fingers crossed for you!

Hey just thought I'd jump on this tread I'm starting clomid this weekend when AF arrives been ttc 15 months for second baby, anyone else get BFP on clomid so far? :)

In my experience, it's not just whether you're ovulating but the timing and size of the egg. Clomid helped bring my ovulation earlier in my cycle so there was more time for a fertilised egg to implant. I ovulated twice but only conceived 1 baby so it also doubled my chances that month!

Doctors prescribe it because it's much less invasive/expensive than other treatments and it's been around for decades, so proven and low risk. If you're young and have no obvious issues, it makes sense to give the body a little hormonal push to see if it works before having to look at IVF.

@Clocloxx I also had secondary infertility and it worked first time :)

good luck ladies!!!

Hello

Can I join in? This is my second month of chlomid. Partner has low morphology so been given clomid whilst we wait for IVF.

How are people getting on? Any side effects?

Not been offered any follow up or scans.. I already ovulate etc, so feeling a bit lost with it all and considering not taking it next month.

Hey I ha my first round of clomid this cycle, I am now 3dpo, I had 3 scans to check whether my cycles seemed normal, my lining was growing thicker like it should, my follicles were growing normally and to check whether the follicles ovulated, this has helped me feel slightly more positive, even though there is no proof there are eggs in the follicles or that they are mature it helped me to know that they were growing and everything seemed normal, I grew 2 follicles this month which I guess gives us a better chance, one follicles ovulated 4 days before the other one which was interesting, so now I have the two week wait, BUT I have had two birthday parties over the past 2 weekends and have let myself have a bit of fun and drank, BUT I am trying to stop being so hard on myself as I have many friends who were doing all sorts and fell pregnant without even trying etc. If it doesn't work this month I am gonna give another 2 cycles a go and then we are being referred for IVF XX
