Could I be having a chemical?

So I tested positive Saturday morning (the top test) and waited 48 hours to test again expecting it to be a bit darker and tested this morning and it looks about the same as the last one (pic from this morning is the bottom test) Could this be a chemical? Or can anyone share pics where this has also happened to them and then gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?!
Thank you in advance 💗💗

How many days are you from your missed period? Have you tried a digital weeks test yet?

ukMummyof1 · 20/02/2023 08:57

Sorry forgot to put that! The first one is 11dpo and the second is 13dpo (that's if I got the dates right)!
I haven't done a digital yet as I'm not sure it would even pick it up xx

Those lines look perfectly ok for the cheapy strip tests at 11 and 13 dpo. My lines were about the same.

They look fine! You can deffo see the bottom one is slightly darker than the top! Tentative congratulations xxx

If you can bear it, stop testing for a few days. When your period is a couple of days late, use a normal (ie plastic case) test and hopefully will show a nice bright line.

It’s such early days that I wouldn’t be putting any trust in the strength of the line on a cheapie test.

The cheap tests are always like this. Especially they green ones. Get a First response test they are the best. I used the cheap tests at first and they never got darker even weeks later and my baby is 1 now

Sorry I haven't tracked ovulation so can't be specific with dates but my first positive pregnancy test (which said 2-3 weeks the same day) on a clearblue looked like the top one!
Fingers crossed for you xx

They look fine. I got my BFP at 11dpo, by 14dpo they were still really faint and I was starting to worry. Even frer didn’t get any darker. I’m now 18dpo and they’re much darker now, I’m feeling much calmer. I think at the beginning, although the hcg is doubling it doesn’t necessarily go up a lot. It could go from 6 to 12 so it doesn’t make a big difference to the line. I absolutely understand the anxiety not seeing much difference. Give it another few days and test again. A clear blue digital gave me a 1-2 weeks at 13 DPO though which was reassuring.

Little update with the FRER I just done, still finding it ultra hard to believe after getting a VF line on a cheapy the last few days🫣

Those strip tests take ages to darken! Frer looks fine!! Congratulations ❤️

That's great progression for a cheapy. Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
