4dpo BBT dip

4dpo today (I think!) but my BBT is a bit all over the place. Not sure of the accuracy of my thermometer as it's only to 1 decimal place anyway. It did rise after ovulation but today it dropped quite a lot. Still above pre-ovulation levels but not by much.

I know it's too early for implantation dip really but hoping it's also too early to signal upcoming AF too!!

Anyone else had this?

I always get one at 3 or 4 dpo. I read that it’s called fallback rise. IIRC it’s to do with a short burst of oestrogen after ovulation which suppresses progesterone for a short time before oestrogen drops again. Or something like that. It doesn’t affect chances of getting pregnant apparently. Hope that helps.

Best to get yourself a 2dp thermometer- they're only about a fiver and will let you know what's really going on. 1dp really isn't sensitive enough to see temperature shifts properly.

@ttcat37 thanks so much this is exactly what I wanted to hear - reassuring! Was starting to worry AF was on her way already which would not be a great sign for the length of my luteal phase.

And @curliegirlie I agree, think investing in a better thermometer would be wise!
