hi, my period is usually 7 days! however it is stopping and it’s not even been 72 hours yet! it was quite heavy the first day red and pink blood and watery! but not enough to fill a whole pad. Then light for the next day and half! and it’s just about stopped. I’m worried as i’m only 25 and all i’ve read on here is premenopausal. Can anyone make me feel better about that as i’m an over thinker and worried as i don’t have any children yet ☹️

Have you done a pregnancy test just in case..? If worried I would just go to your GP tbh. Hopefully all is fine. Periods can be funny things at times. Let us know how you get on. X

Hang on, are you asking about pregnancy or if you're premenopausal at the age of 25?

Enn1234 · 17/02/2023 15:24

Hi OP!
If its any consolation my periods are becoming lighter too and have been for few years - nothing to be concerned about - just how periods are and our bodies do go through many changes!
Hope this puts your mind at ease!

Hey, honestly don't worry at all. Our bodies go through a roller coaster of emotions and changes.
Periods can last anything between 2-7 days. Obviously each person's usual habit is different.
I'm 25 also and my days definitely vary. When I was a teenager, periods were 7 days and generally much heavier and painful for at least 3-4 days. Now, the pain lasts only about a day or two, and the flow is much lighter. I have a 5-6 day period now. No kids yet.

Don't search too much into it. Eat hormone friendly foods and try not to inflame your stomach with fatty foods around your menstruating time. You'll be fine x

@SnookyPook no i have not done a pregnancy test as it is definitely a period, my gp is already doing different tests as we’ve been ttc 18 months and nothing as of yet so will mention it at my next appointment i think me stressing just isn’t helping things but i’ve had abit more bleeding again now so im back at ease. I don’t think i’d have noticed this if i wasn’t ttc i’d just be happy it’s slowed down lol! it’s still light but ive has a bit more bleeding since posting this thread x

@gemloving no i’m asking if it could be a sign as i’m usually heavy and they are getting weirder or weirder it’s not pregnancy related.. i might have put it under conception but i don’t use mumsnet a lot so wasn’t sure what to put it under. No no i don’t want to know if there’s a possibility i could be pregnant. Although i know someone who has gone through it at my age so might be a low chance but still a chance.

@Enn1234 thankyou! i’m a massive over thinker and look into every little detail even if it does sound abit stupid x

@FR49 thankyou for that! it always helps knowing that people my age are similar to me as a lot of of posts i see on here are being in their 30s and 40s. I’m a sucker for chocolate and fatty foods when it’s my time of month i just crave it but will definitely try to stop this thankyou! xx

Lol don't worry, I used to be the same but I've been really trying to cut down on sugars and prepare my body for pregnancy. It really is a big extra step, so go slow and easy on yourself! I'm TTC too! :) Hopefully we get our BFP soon.

Jadelovely · 17/02/2023 21:26

@FR49 definitely. I do so well and then af comes and i end up craving it lol! but i will try my best to ignore the cravings. Thankyou so much fingers crossed for us both! how long have you be ttc?
