Hello all

Apologies in advance this may be a long one.

I don’t track ovulation but have a rough idea of when it is based on EWCM and ovulation twinges. I had EWCM on 19 Jan this month and twinges on 21 Jan. I had sex on 19th and 20th.

Start of the week commencing 30 Jan I started having symptoms like a bit of nausea and vivid dreams.

I did an FRER on 1 Feb, and had the faintest line barely visible to the naked eye. I then did another FRER on 3 Feb which was negative. I assumed I was having another chemical (I had one last cycle). To confirm the chemical to myself, I did a boots 5 day early test on 6 Feb which was negative although dried with a line that I assumed was an evap.

So, since then I’ve been waiting to start bleeding. I should note I’ve had no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever since the negative tests. I knew my body can take a while to release the pregnancy as I had a chemical last cycle and it took eight days after the last negative for the bleeding to start.

Anyway, the last couple of days my resting heart rate has been going crazy (about ten beats above its usual). For peace of mind, I did my last test in the house which was a boots 5 day early which was a dye stealer (see last pic).

I was totally shocked and rushed out to buy more and they’re all positive.

Is it possible for some people to simple show up on tests later than others ?

After sex on 20 Jan I didn’t have sex again until 26 Jan which surely would have been too late after ovulation.

I’m just so confused …. Please help.

I just don’t feel pregnant at all despite what the tests say.

Or could it be HCG left over from the chemical pregnancy? I’m also concerned about an ectopic with variable HCG levels.

argh!

ps. And congrats if you read this far! :)

First of all - congrats - they seem like positive tests to me. Sorry though, I'm a bit confused about all the timings etc. How many dpo were you when you were doing the first tests? If pre-AF than could deffo have taken longer to show up..? If you hadn't tested early would you have got these and not assumed anything was wrong?

LucyEleanorModeratz · 16/02/2023 14:20

Thank you @SnookyPook for your kind message.

im not 100% on dates as I don’t track but the first FRER I thought was approx 10dpo (with the v faint line barely visible), the second FRER (negative) was (I thought) around 12dpo, and the Boots test (with what I thought was an evap) around 15dpo.

I am thinking that maybe I had my dates wrong. Ive just bought a Clearblue weeks digital test to take tomorrow with FMU.

It just feels so surreal as not one bit of me feels pregnant!

@LucyEleanorModeratz I see! All a bit baffling for you! Hope the test tomorrow provides some clarity! Let me know how you get on! 😊

Sometimes your body can try to ovulate (and you get symptoms from the LH surge) but then it doesn't work out, so it surges again at a later date. The surge does not always indicate the egg was actually released. So maybe you hadn't actually ovulated till later. Congrats!

2crossedout1 · 17/02/2023 05:17

Yes it's certainly possible to not show up if you test too early, and to not be having any symptoms at this stage. Congratulations OP!

LucyEleanorModeratz · 17/02/2023 07:02

Thank you so much everybody - seeing it in black and white this morning makes it feel more real , despite not feeling pregnant in the slightest ! I must definitely have ovulated a week or so later than I thought, which is truly mind boggling as I thought I felt ovulation! Thank you for all your replies :)

Congratulations!!

Nimbostratus100 · 17/02/2023 07:09

sounds like you were just testing too early to get a reliable result. Non of those tests Congratulations !

none of those results in Jan or early feb have any meaning

Nimbostratus100 · 17/02/2023 07:10

sorry! Dont know what happened to my message!

I'll try again

Noone of those early tests, end of Jan/ start of Feb. mean anything at all- too early

The most recent tests look like you are pregnant

congratulations

SnookyPook · 17/02/2023 08:05

@LucyEleanorModeratz CONGRATULATIONS!! 🥳 there's no doubting those tests is there?! So lovely. Hope all progresses well for you! Is this your first pregnancy? X

LucyEleanorModeratz · 17/02/2023 09:32

Thank you @littlemousebigcheese feeling very grateful 🙏🏼

I totally agree @Nimbostratus100 i must have ovulated later which means I’d have been far far too early for testing when I did. The weird thing is my first FRER had the faintest hint of a line, but in hindsight that must have been an evap.

Thank you @SnookyPook indeed no there’s no doubting them! It’s not my first pregnancy, I have a little boy who’s nearly 3 but he was a (very joyful) accident so I didn’t know I was pregnant for some time so can’t really compare to this stage. What is unnerving me is that with my chemical last month I really just felt pregnant - fatigue, constipation, very hormonal and sometimes bad tempered (which is not like me at all) - and I don’t feel any of that this time, in fact I don’t feel anything! But my chemical tests definitely didn’t show this strong so I’m hoping it’s a case of ‘every pregnancy is different’ and not a bad sign of things to come 🙏🏼🤞🏼

Now to wait for DH to come home tonight to break the news after I’ve been telling him for about a fortnight that I’ve had another chemical eeek!

@LucyEleanorModeratz aw it's so lovely to hear positive stories 🥰 I absolutely wouldn't worry based on signs as so many people say every pregnancy can be completely different, although it's hard not to be on hyper-alert to every little thing isn't it?! Aw I bet you're so excited to tell DH! Feel free to keep us posted! 😊
