Hello all😊 I'm 28 years old and thinking of ttc in the next month or so and looking for advice as this will be our first time trying.

I have been on the pill for over 10 years, is it best to come off the pill when you finish the packet, or does it not really matter? Is it best to start taking folic acid as soon as possible?

I'm also on 20mg Citalopram, any information on how this would affect anything would be great.

Thank you.

Hi OP - yes start taking folic acid now, it won't help you conceive but will help with healthy formation of the baby.

I was on the mini pill and just stopped it straight away, I don't see why you'd need to wait but maybe just Google about the brand that you're on.

If you want to take a relaxed approach try to have sex every 2-3 days throughout your cycle.

If you want to go the whole hog you can use OPKs to pinpoint when you ovulate to make sure you DTD as much as possible in your most fertile week. You can also use pre-seed lube to help the sperm on their way.

This is the approach I took (absolute control freak) and I was lucky enough to fall first time with DD, and just got a bfp for our second on the third try.

Good luck!
