Hi, been trying to conceive for 18 months, no luck yet. Im thinking maybe im not timing it right maybe i should be having more 'sexy time' but it feels soo planned and can be hard work and when we don't fit in alot i just feel like weve ruined the chances. How often is normal

Have you tried using ovulation prediction kits? I used the clear blue ones which show a flashing smiley face when it's near ovulation time (time to start DTD) then a static smiley face when it's ovulation day. They're pricey but made it so much easier to figure out timings etc. Good luck with it all 🙂

After 18 months I'd be going to your GP for initial fertility tests. I think every other day throughout cycle is recommended to maximise chances of conception.

Your GP should refer you to the fertility clinic after 12 months of unsuccessful TTC. I think the advice is, as PP said, every other day. (Daily is not helpful as sperm quality isn’t great if so frequent, FYI). Totally recommend ovulation testing too so you can focus on the right week in the month. Good luck!

I only had sexy time twice and conceived. I think less is more

Not very helpful to those struggling to conceive! Having gone through 4 rounds of IVF myself, that kind of comment would have really upset me at the time.

Not saying it to be unhelpful. She asked if she should have more sexy time. Too much can sometimes can be too much and not help.

Well thank you for your well-informed opinion. 🙄
When I was TTC I would have had to actively restrain myself from either slapping you or bursting into tears if you had said your original comment to my face. It’s an emotional rollercoaster for those who struggle to conceive, please be more thoughtful

Well if you are taking it like that then it's not my problem. I'm sick of people taking stuff the wrong way on here. If you don't like it just ignore. I haven't said anything wrong.

I'm sorry you had a tough journey but I'm allowed to give my opinion
