Hi

I had a CP last month and my cycles are normally around 30 days.
I’m CD 10 today and have been having more stretchy creamy CM, shooting pains in boobs and feeling emotional, also had a spot breakout.
This is my first month using easy at home OPKs. I tested yesterday and today and my results are attached.
I don’t normally ovulate until CD 18-19 but my tests are getting darker already. Is this normal or will I ovulate earlier this cycle? I don’t know what the ‘norm’ is for the beginning of the LH surge (I know they are low at the moment)
Anyone know if a CP messes up cycles? Or does it look like I’ll ovulate normal time?

Sorry for the essay!

Can anyone shed some light please?

That looks like a normal reading to me for that stage in your cycle. Mine stays around 0.2 ish then rises to my peak over about 2 or 3 days.
Here’s mine for this month for comparison. As it gets close to my peak I test a lot as it can be rapid rather than gradual and it’s easy to miss.
The Premom app has had an upgrade recently and I think sometimes the camera doesn’t gauge the lines correctly.
Also your peak might be way higher than mine. Keep testing even after it goes above 1 (it’ll show as high/ positive). Because it might be going up and not reached your peak yet. Some women’s peak is closer to 2 than 1.
I’ve also had peaks at under 1, perhaps I missed the true peak but don’t be discouraged if that happens as it doesn’t mean you haven’t ovulated.
My CPs didn’t really mess with my cycle, other than for the most recent one, I had a heavier and longer period by 1 or 2 days and my ovulation was a day or 2 later.

Can anyone shed some light please?

@ttcat37 thanks so much for that that’s really helpful.
So your ovulation was around day 14, mine is normally not until day 18 so I may very well ovulate early by the looks of things but I know everyone is different.
Thanks for your help I will keep testing 😊

@MrsSB2023 no problems. From my BBT, Fertility Friend is saying it was cd15, but it was an odd month for me having positives for 2 days. Usually I’m lucky to find my peak as it’s so quick then drops again straight away.
Keep testing, yes everyone is different and some people’s peaks rise gradually and some is rapid. So don’t worry too much about what others are doing, you know you’re ovulating and that’s a huge positive 🙂

@ttcat37 I’m only on cycle 2. Last month I used the CB digital only had one day flashing on CD 15, next day it was static but I didn’t ‘feel’ like I actually ovulated until CD 18 (EWCM & high libido)
This cycle I wanted to actually see the progress as I was a bit shocked that I only had one day flashing before I got the static and I know sometimes it picks the beginning of the peak up so it was a guessing game really!
It’s at 0.35 this evening so definitely on the up

See I'm so confused as I'm starting to track and thought that the peak means you have missed the window? So you're supposed to try and guess roughly what day it is? Seems impossible? Or have I got it all wrong??
And how does this app know what level your ovulation test is at? By the picture? I'm so green to this! Xxx

@MrsSB2023 my most recent cycle the CB digital went from low one day to static the next 🤷🏼‍♀️ don’t know what happened there but one think to remember is the CB digitals test oestrogen as well as LH. My CB always tests positives before the strips. The other thing to remember with the strips is you’ll probably get a higher reading lunchtime onwards as your body makes LH in the morning and it doesn’t show until later on.
@Floralsandsmiles No the peak reading means get busy!! Peak is 12-48 hours before ovulation but generally about 24 hours. If you do strips rather than clear blue digital, you start doing strips a few days before you think you’re gonna ovulate and the test line gradually gets stronger. When the test line is as strong as or stronger than the control line that’s a positive. Treat it like your peak, but keep testing in case it gets stronger. The strongest reading is your peak. The Premom app has a scan function where it gives you a numerical reading.

No probs ladies. Fingers crossed for you both 🍀

MrsSB2023 · 10/02/2023 10:53

@ttcat37 sorry me again!

Can I just ask as it’s my first time using the OPKs, when people say ‘positive OPK’ does that mean when you live reached ‘peak’ on the pre mom app?
And does that mean you’re about to ovulate or you’re ovulating that day?

Sorry I’m just a bit confused 🤣

@MrsSB2023 so for the strips, a positive is when you reach the number 1. You know how yours was 0.35 yesterday, it will go up and probably over 1. However, your peak might be well above 1. Or it might be under. So keep testing because it’s the peak that matters.

With the digitals, when you get a static smiley that’s a positive.

Peak means you’re gonna ovulate within 12-48 hours.

It’s a bit of a guessing game, because you don’t know when your peak is until it’s over. This is why people talk about a positive opk, because they know they’re probably almost at peak, so it’s a good time to start getting busy! If it takes a little longer to get pregnant, it’s really useful information to have in hindsight, because you can plan for the next month.
