Cycle is really messed up this month

My cycles are irregular, usually between 30-36 days and periods are heavy. Last cycle on cycle day 30 I started spotting and for the next few days had a very, very light period, didn't even need to wear proper protection just a panty liner or nothing. It ended 4 days ago and now on day 8 of this cycle I've had a flashing smiley on the clear blue ovulation test. I have no idea what to do, it's too early for me to be in my fertile window, so I have no idea what's going on. How to get my cycle back on track? Feels like a wasted month.

Hello it sounds like you might have had an anovulatory cycle where you didn’t ovulate? If you don’t track BBT already I recommend so you can confirm ovulation each month 🤞🏽 X

No my period started a bit earlier than expected so I didn’t bother doing a test. Would it be possible if I had a period and am now apparently going into a fertile window?

I’ve heard of bbt tracking but am not sure how to do it. This may be a stupid question but can you just use a normal thermometer or would I need to buy a special one?

Could you be pregnant? Not to get your hopes up but might that have been implantation bleeding you had?

I guess it might be possible? But the flashing smiley surely makes it unlikely as I wouldn’t be pregnant and about to ovulate?

It’s not a stupid question at all ☺️ We’re all learning on this journey! A few months ago I didn’t know what it was either! Google basal body thermometer or ovulation thermometer I bought an easy@home one off Amazon for around £10 download an app either Fertility friend app, premom or flo and before you’ve even got out of bed in the morning take your temperature when you wake and note it in the app.
if you know this already then ignore me! But progesterone is released once you’ve ovulated and where it’s a heat inducing hormone your temperature will rise slightly so it’s a very clear sign you’ve ovulated! Good luck ☺️

@TTC0123 than you I’ll look into getting one of those and trying it. Might give more insight as to what happens each month!
