Always negative ovulation tests

I’ve been testing using ovulation strips since Christmas. I’ve never had a peak! My periods are regular, bang on 30 days every cycle. We are hoping to start trying this summer so was trying to get ahead of working out how to use the tests etc and get in tune with my body.

now I’m worried I don’t ovulate at all. Could you still be having periods with no ovulation?
what do I do next? Keep testing for 6 months? Has anyone been in same position?

Are you using the cheapie strips or the digital?
How often are you testing?

SuperHandss · 06/02/2023 19:09

What do your tests look like?

MAY324 · 06/02/2023 19:54

Using the cheap ones. Sometimes it has a faint line and others nothing at all!

Also testing daily but twice a day over fertile predicted window.

Are you testing twice a day? As soon as you get a faint line you need to try to not drink from say 8pm and test at 10pm. Some cheapies are better than others

Maybe try other tests even just for one month to see if a difference

Test twice per day. I used to test with my 2nd morning wee (or 1st if working) then test again in the evening between 6 and 7pm. I tested from cycle day 10.
I've just looked at the cycle I conceived and I tested at 10am (2nd wee) and then again at 3.45pm the same day where I got my peak, it was cd17. I can't remember why I tested at 3.45pm, it wasn't my usual pattern, I must have had a gut feeling to do it.

Starting testing after period and don't stop.

Use the more expensive clearblue ones but really when you’re ready just start trying and see how it goes. You could also try chatting your basal temp as that will tell you if you’ve ovulated. You need an ovulation thermometer and an app like fertility friend.
very unlikely to be having periods and not ovulating. I got a batch of opks once where the line never got darker than the test. Used a different batch and it was much clearer.

You could start temping? If you chart your temperature in an app first thing each morning (literally before you do anything else) then you should be able to confirm if you've ovulated or not. I used premom as I was using that for my OPKs too. It's not a great predictor of ovulation as you can only tell after the fact, but it might be able to let you know whether you're missing your peak on OPKs or if you're not ovulating at all
