Hello, I wonder if anyone can help!

So basically I had a miscarriage 5 weeks 2 days ago, I’ve been given tablets to induce my period but I’ve got such bad pelvic pain I’m wondering is my period coming or is it just PCOS gone wild etc. Do I take these tablets but then I don’t know what would happen if I got my period before finishing the tablets? Do I leave the tablets and just see what happens but how long do I see for? Do you have another suggestion?

Dr told me to start taking them on Monday but I didn’t have chance to ask him the above.

Very sorry to hear about your miscarriage 😟 I had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks but my period following it was on time. Please excuse my ignorance but why have you been prescribed pills to induce a period? Personally I would let my body have a period naturally, and would rather wait longer for it to turn up if I had to. I don't like the idea of inducing it if my body isn't ready 🤷‍♀️ But, like I said, I haven't any experience of this, is there a medical reason the doctor has prescribed them for you? This is a long-winded way of saying that I'd wait to see if period arrives!

Sorry for you loss Op. Are you in the UK? What is the exact medication name and dosage of the 'tablets' you were given??? Sorry, but no one can guess at what you are taking?

First of all so sorry for your loss 😢

Is there a chance you could be pregnant again before you take anything?

5weeks isn't a very late period - why were you prescribed them? After my miscarriages my periods were always a bit"off" for a few months

Hi @Purple562 do they feel like period pains? If so maybe wait a week and see how it goes or until you can consult your Dr again. If no period in a week I'd go ahead and take them.
I had a loss last month aswell ( was only about 2 weeks ) and I can say my cycle has been a bit crazy afterwards. I also have pcos. I bled for 14 days , and during that time I also had ovarian pain and cm like I was ovulating but also still bleeding. Now for the past full week I've had terrible period like pains , and for a few days had more ovary pain and today got a high opk so I have no idea what's going on with my cycle .

They don’t they’re not aches more like stabbing :(! I think waiting another week and then talking to the doctor is a good idea, thank you
