Hi,

It's my first month tracking BBT and I can't work out if I've ovulated or not. Is anyone an expert on these things?

It’ll be confirmed once you have a raised temperature for three days. I’d say you ovulated at some stage on day 14 if I’m reading your chart correctly but it hasn’t confirmed it yet.

@Linzi0906 I notice your chart says ‘wearable wrist’. Where are you getting your temps from?

Swimswam · 04/02/2023 19:42

Are you following the rules - exactly - for taking your temperature?
I used a Basel body thermometer - under tongue. It has to be taken after a certain amount of uninterrupted sleep, at the same time each day - on waking and with minimum movement. I kept mine under my pillow.

I'm using the temperature from my Apple Watch 8 it records throughout sleep
again this morning my temp has gone up 98.82 farnhite my baseline is usually around 97.52
i had a positive ovulation lh test on the 27th which was cycle day 21

Fertility Friend say those types of wearables should not be used with their app which probably explains why your chart is difficult to read.

Sorry, meant to post the link.

Thanks il have to invest in a thermometer see if it makes more sense
by looking at this graph can u determine if ovulation has occurred

Pollywoddles · 05/02/2023 18:03

I probably would have said CD 19 but you’re missing temperatures. You said you had the positive OPK on CD 21 but there’s no temperature for that day so I can’t see what the rise is from that.

While it looks like ovulation has occurred as there does seem to be a temperature shift, your data is compromised so I would say your chart is invalid.

Make sure you buy a thermometer designed for BBT monitoring, it should read to two decimal places.
