TTC no 2 for a year.

2021lady · 16/02/2023 09:51

I feel like number 2 has been a lot harder to conceive
Granted my periods were a bit messed up due to breastfeeding and such but man..I didn't think it'd take this long
I've been regularly ovulating for well over a year and nothing.
I really hope this month is ours
Baby dust to everyone!

NatGee · 16/02/2023 09:59

@Bridgeth29 that looks like a positive to me - how many dodgy tests can you have in a batch? not many in my opinion. Tentative congratulations, i hope it all progresses nicely for you xx

@2021lady I couldn't believe what an impact bf had on my fertility! Doesn't affect everyone but my periods only returned when I finally fully weaned. Forced the issue a little as DS would have gone on longer which was a bit sad (he was 21 months) but I'm glad I did now as thankfully periods started up within a month of stopping! I just turned 37 so didn't have the luxury of waiting it out!

Baby dust to all of us!

Bridgeth29 · 16/02/2023 10:17

@NatGee thank you... I really hope so xx

SnookyPook · 16/02/2023 10:34

@Bridgeth29 I agree with @NatGee - hopefully there wouldn't be several dodgy tests in one batch... I've seen lines on both yours so fingers crossed there is progression and you can feel a bit more certain about it soon! ❤️

Bridgeth29 · 16/02/2023 10:50

@SnookyPook thanks! xx

TunnocksTCake · 16/02/2023 10:58

@Sierra26 I had v raised prolactin earlier this year and the Dr got it re-done 6 weeks later and it had gone from 1000 down to 300. Still high and I have been concerned about the link with fertility too but dr wont do anything about it as I am in 'normal' range. Prolactin is VERY sensitive to stress, so even the stress of having your bloods taken can make it go up. I have really been working on my stress levels generally which is something to consider. I also dont have any of the symptoms like leakign from boobs etc so I am not that worried. Definitely get it re-checked and I think 3 months of elevated levels is cause for referral. Good your dr is doing additional tests, mine barely took any note 🙄

Sierra26 · 16/02/2023 12:07

@TunnocksTCake thanks for sharing. I had to go private for this! Just had my follow up and the consultant barely even mentioned the prolactin level, just said it was a bit high (589) but nothing to take action on.

Everything else normal… so back where I started!

TunnocksTCake · 16/02/2023 12:44

@Sierra26 that's reassuring to know the consultant wasnt worried. However, very frustrating that there is nothing actionable for you - have they told you to just keep trying naturally then? How long have you been ttc for?

Ks2023 · 16/02/2023 13:29

behappy1736 · 16/02/2023 13:52

Hi everyone please can I join? TTC baby number 2 and this will be our first cycle of trying 😊 x

Bridgeth29 · 16/02/2023 14:04

@Tophy124 have you tested today? I still feel hopeful for you!

Tophy124 · 16/02/2023 14:07

@Bridgeth29 hey!! I tested yesterday and stark white with FMU, so I think I’m out. I feel like I have all the AF symptoms with being due on tomorrow, so expecting AF to show up tomorrow as expected!

how are you doing? Xx

Tophy124 · 16/02/2023 14:11

@Bridgeth29 i see the second line! Can you grab a different brand to boost your confidence? I’ve had a false positive on a FRER but it was only on 1 test!! Not 2 in a row xx

Bridgeth29 · 16/02/2023 14:20

@Tophy124 how sensitive are the tests you've used though? I've got more frers coming this afternoon but think I'll wait to test again in the morning as I'm out with a friend this evening and if it's negative I'll be devastated and it'll ruin my night (I hardly ever go out)! I think other tests arent as sensitive so don't see the point when I'm only 11dpo. With my DS I didn't get a faint on a cheapy until about 16doo and the frer was a clear positive at 10dpo xx

LotzW · 16/02/2023 14:24

@2021lady 2nd month trying for 2nd child. I'm 36. Already like a fruit loop ad I hate not being in control 🤪

SaltedChoco · 16/02/2023 14:39

AlleycatMarie · 15/02/2023 20:33

@SaltedChoco I’m also cd17 with 6 days of flashing smileys! So frustrating, I just want my static!!

Any luck today, @AlleycatMarie? I had another flashing today and wanted to launch it out the window. CD18, 7th flashing!

Superstorefan123 · 16/02/2023 14:55

@Ks2023 interesting, did you have any symptoms of a thick lining? I do have quite heavy periods but no sign of endo so perhaps I also have a thick lining? No monitoring scans so I don’t know :(

Currently 2DPO anyone else?! I am going to not test this month - after a chemical last month it’s just too painful to test and get a negative so I’m going to wait until AF turns up!

Tophy124 · 16/02/2023 14:57

@Bridgeth29 I used the same brand and my lines just disappeared after a few days and I’m out of tests so now just waiting for AF to show up. My Dr said she thinks it sounds like a CP! I can’t stomach wasting anymore money on tests. Every FRER I did was stark white too. I feel crampy today and really sore boobs and like AF is on her way!

Ks2023 · 16/02/2023 15:03

@Superstorefan123 yes i have heavy periods as well then went to see my gynaecologist who did all the checks and it was 20mm normally they would suggest to clean you out before even trying or put coil in

Bridgeth29 · 16/02/2023 15:20

@Tophy124 well I'll be thinking of you and hoping AF stays away xx

Superstorefan123 · 16/02/2023 15:28

@2021lady TTC 10 months now, baby no.1. I’ve had two miscarriages - I’m only 29 so am really surprised at how hard it’s been, though I know it doesn’t discriminate :(
