Exercise and caffeine during TWW

Just that really - What are your thoughts/what have you done previously? Google has told me different things!

For context, I go to a gym that does high intensity classes, 45 minute sessions, either cardio or weights. I usually go 5-6 times a week. But here in Australia, it’s definitely getting hotter, so unsure whether to continue during TWW? Some pages say continue what you’ve been doing, some say rest during TWW? Has anyone exercised during the first half of the TWW and then rested when implantation is due to occur?

Also wondering on caffeine intake - again google tells me different things. Some say avoid, some say no more than 200mg a day.

help!

Hey!

I'm not sure how long you've been ttc for, but exercise was one of the few things that kept me sane during the 18 months we were ttc. The month we conceived I was exercising a lot more than in previous months. It can take quite a while, so I wouldn't stop doing anything that makes you happy 😊 xxx

Honestly, I'd live your life normally, if not it gets split into these two week waits and it's very hard to disconnect from trying to conceive. Given it can take up to a year to conceive when there's no issues you honestly need to try your best to live normally and not think about it much for peace of mind
The caffeine is fine in my experience

Hi ladies - thank you so much for your replies. We’ve only just started so total newbie here! Just wasn’t sure on the best approach! I’ll keep hitting the gym then - as you said @ElizaGracie95, I find it keeps me sane and keeps me in a routine!

Thanks!!

Hey, I don’t have advice but have the same question! I do similar style classes but 2-3 times per week. We’ve been TTC for 3 months I’d started adjusting my routine around the TWW but not going to do that anymore as it’s clearly not made a difference!

Had started to wonder if exercise may have a negative impact in lead up to fertile window, for production of a healthy egg etc. But I’m just speculating.

Think i wouldn’t go to the gym within a few hours of DTD though, to help keep it all in there... you know lol.

Have heard of athletes losing their cycle due to lack of calorie reserve but no chance of that with me lol.

Wishing you luck on your TTC journey! Xx

Just thought I’d say ladies, I continued having 1 coffee a day and exercising regularly whilst having IVF (until my ovaries were so swollen and I could barely walk!!!) 😂 but nothing effected the cycle, and it worked first time. I also checked with the midwife during my cycle of IVF/ICSI and they were quite happy with everything I was doing.

If it helps you feel better, it’s absolutely fine🤍 but I understand the worry of wanting to do everything right or worrying it’ll effect things xx

I had two early miscarriages when not exercising much, and then in my current successful pregnancy (35 weeks atm) I conceived when exercising very actively - hiit/running/yoga most days and kept going hard until nausea and tiredness hit around week 6. Don’t over exhaust yourself, otherwise exercise is great for the body and mind - you need both in a healthy state for pregnancy x

Yes to this. Started trying last month and haven’t changed anything. Keep normality and low expectations
