Can a C-section cause fertility issues? TTC #2

Hi, I'm TTC baby #2, I've been off birth control for nearly a year but after about 7months if leaving it up to chance and then nothing happening I've recently started to track my cycles and last cycle used OPKs to pin point my ovulation. It only took me and DH 4cycles to conceive DD who I had via emergency c-section in 2020, I also had a really bad uterine infection while in labour and then a secondary infection in my wound post C-section that went septic and I ended up in HDU. Has anyone who's had c-sections (especially with infections after) who have gone on to have fertility issues? Am I being impatient? Was I just lucky last time to conceive so quickly with DD and just have to be more patient this time round? Any advice helpful, TIA xxx

So you only started tracking cycles recently? It doesn't always happen in just a few months, not for everyone. And just because it took 4 months last time, doesn't mean it would work that quickly again. A lot of people have unrealistic expectations

@Happinessandrainbows I feel like that was unnecessarily harsh! Like I said it's been nearly a year of no contraception with regular sex, only recently I've been tracking my cycles to pin point ovulation to try and help things along but it not just been a few months of trying. It's been nearly a year! Just because I haven't spent that year obsessing and tracking every single cycle doesn't mean it's not been a part of my TTC process! I had a very traumatic experience with my C-section and infections and all I was asking is if anyone has had similar experiences and gone on to have issues with fertility. There was a lot of trauma to my uterus and all I'm asking is if this can effect fertility! I'm sorry if you are having/have had in the past a difficult time TTC but don't take that out on me! Your opinion and answer we're both rude and unhelpful and unrelated to the actual question! Everyone has different experiences but I think you're unfair to brand me unrealistic with my expectations! I'm simply asking if having had a previous c-section can effect fertility! I'm great full it didn't take long for us to conceive last time and I'm fully aware how long these things can take but I'm sure you can understand that when you've been trying for a while it's things like this that can really play on your mind. Don't take your crap out on me!

Secondary infertility happens to 5% of couples regardless of birth method.

C-sections do increase risk of secondary infertility - commonly due to Caesarian Scar Defect (Isthmoceles)- affects 24%-70% of women who have had a C-section.

Here is the advice
”Yes, c-section scarring sometimes causes infertility. But with treatment, many people go on to have healthy pregnancies. Talk with your healthcare provider if you have symptoms of an isthmocele (cesarean scar defect) or if you’ve been trying to get pregnant for 12 months without success (six months if you’re over the age of 35).”
