Hi all, new to this so i am sorry if i’ve posted in the wrong section however… I am looking for advice for TTC with a hopeful first baby. (I am 24 years old) I came off the pill beginning of December, I started testing using the Clearblue Ovulation Tests after Christmas and got a Flashing Smiley on 3rd January (Morning) then a Static smiley on 8th Jan (Evening) Sorry if TMI, but we “DTD” 3rd, 4th, 6th, 8th & 9th Jan! Yes, I really have written all these notes! LOL. I have taken two first response pregnancy tests, yesterday morning and today afternoon & both totally negative. Do you think I have made any mistakes TTC? With my dates? Did we DTD on the correct dates? Am I testing too early? Should I be disheartened yet? I am not 100% sure how many DPO i am! Basically - I am in need of help & advice! 😂Who knew TTC was so mind blowing?! TIA for any help!

Do you temp alongside OPK to confirm ovulation?
If not, assuming you ovulated on either the 9th or 10th then today you’re still only around 9/10dpo
If you did ovulate after the static smiley then it looks like you’ve covered dtd on the right dates, test again in a few days using FMU

That all sounds fine, it can take a year to conceive so don't fret, it takes time sometimes

It sounds like you've covered the right dates, but like PP said, it is normal to take up to a year, so please try not to get too consumed with it. I've just finished my first cycle TTC with AF starting yesterday. I didn't track ovulation or anything but we DTD regularly every 2-3 throughout the whole month and we weren't successful. What I've learnt from the first month alone is you kind of have to learn to let go of TTC a little, and know you can seek help from GP after a year.

every 2-3 days*

No i don’t if i’m honest, as it was the first proper month, i was just seeing “what happens” but then you get way too in to it 😂 does anyone know roughly when would be a good time to test again? Or is it not worth testing ….

if as previously stated your around 9/10 DPO then you may have only fertilised less than 48 hours ago and it takes a few days for the HCG to build up enough in your system to show on a test, id try your hardest to wait until the day AF is meant to show up it reduces the dissappointment a little if this month wasnt successful. but dont get dishearted theres always next month and things might take a while so dont stress to much.. wishing you all the luck... im currently 8DPO and the TWW is driving me insane but its got to be done haha x
