Ovulating early according to app

Hey everyone,

I'm currently cycle day 11 and app says I ovulated on cycle day 9. Just wanted a second opinion on ovulation tests. I had a miscarriage in December with my first pregnancy, D&C 6th December and first period since on 9th January so now I'm cd11.

I am 38 years old and worried about ovulating early as from what I've read it's bad due to egg not being mature enough to fertilise.

Is that it? Did I ovulate or could I possibly ovulate round cd14? My cycles have always been regular before but I never tracked ovulation.

Thanks x

@38andtrying have you checked your pregnancy test was negative after your D&C? Your low levels look around the same as what mine were when I still had residual hcg floating about then the opks suddenly dropped even lower and I got a proper rise and peak. It's hard to know if you didn't opk before as your low level could be normal for you. Are you temping at all? If it was me I would carry on testing with the opks and see what happens with them. I'm CD11 today if you want some company the bit after a D&C is hard and sometimes very confusing I had 2 last year both have been very different ❤️

Thanks so much for reply, yes I got a negative after the d &c, my opk is up at .6 again this morning so I'm hoping they're rising again. When did your opks stabilise ? How many months after d&c?

Yes I'll continue doing the tests

So sorry to hear you had 2 last year, praying I don't have a repeat and you are lucky too. it's so mentally, physically and emotionally draining.

I just took test few mkns ago and got this high, timing is right so I'm assuming the 9 day was wrong ? What do you think ? Could I be getting 2 LH surges or was last one not real? This is first one over 1, last was .96. I also had some discharge today that was raw egg like which TMI lol I assume this is real surge?

@38andtrying yes I think carrying on is a good plan then I think you'll probably see another rise. Looking at the picture your peak doesn't look massively different from the others I wonder if it was a true peak 🤔

So after my first I got a period at 5 weeks and a negative test at 6 weeks I then ovulated on CD16 and fell that cycle. My opks between the D&C and period were just useless.

My second I had the D&C on 2/11 I got a very faint positive frer still on 16/12 so 7 weeks after. I stopped testing after this as thought I was basically negative. I started bleeding but I think it was a hematoma as it was a weird bleed not period like at all that lasted 14 days and I ovulated in that time and got a proper period starting at 11dpo. I'm now CD11 from that period. looking back I stopped opk testing end of nov as they were still high and by the time I started again on 26/12 they had dropped right down.

A lovely lady on here always tells me new cycle new chance at a healthy pregnancy they are all different

@38andtrying just seen your update that latest one looks more like it. I think that CD9 was either maybe the app or it tried and failed so is trying again

I'm so sorry you went through this, it's horrifying. If you don't mind me asking what age are you? And do you have any children? I'm kind of obsessed with age atm as I think that's why I had the miscarriage and I'm so frightened about it happening again. I'm 38 and have no children

@38andtrying I've just turned 37. I have one DS that I conceived at 34 had at 35 which was in 2020. Tbh I know age isn't on my side but I feel like covid has a lot to answer for for me. I had complication in pregnancy right after having covid. Caught covid at 6 weeks 2nd pregnancy MMC grew to 10 weeks 3rd pregnancy caught covid at 4 weeks MMC grew to 7 weeks. It's really hard to stay optimistic I totally get it but when you get a BFP you just have to take it one day at a time today you are pregnant. I always think I got through it before I can do it again but hopefully I won't have to

Just this minute im after getting text from my doctor asking me to come in for blood test as last test showed I my have low b12 and folate, after Googling and apparently this can cause miscarriage. Hoping its nothing too serious

@38andtrying yes they def can. Make sure you take a prenatal that has methyl folate which is the natural form and your system absorbs it easier than synthetic folic acid. I take these which are recommended from the book it starts with an egg

NATURELO Prenatal Multivitamin - Natural Vitamins & Minerals Including Iron, Calcium & Extra Folate - Best for Essential Nutrients During Pregnancy - No GMOs - 180 Vegan Capsules | 2 Month Supply amzn.eu/d/bR0c1At

The doctor might tell you to take a higher dose maybe 🤔 to get it up though but in the meantime have a look at what your already taking

Thanks so much thats really helpful, I'm glad doctor caught it and so will advise me so I can be content. They usually don't do blood tests after 1 miscarriage but my doctor was nice and did them for me as I was feeling run down etc, I wanted thyroid and bloods checked and fair play she was one who suggested it. On nhs

I 100% ovulated cd10 this cycle after peaks day 9 and 10. I had a positive digital pregnancy test yesterday which was 11 dpo and only cd21. I’m worried about the quality of the egg when ovulation so early.

Leemoe · 20/01/2023 22:28

I conceived my last child age 33.

We were NFP and I ovulated on day 9. He is now six, there was nothing wrong with the egg at all.

I hope that gives you some hope
