Opk help!

I had a positive opk yesterday at about 7pm so I thought great, I can dtd tomorrow afternoon (today) as DP is on a night shift.

Anyway, at 11am today, painful ovulation pains for an hour before I got chance to DTD 😣

I always thought that after a positive opk, ovulation occurred 24-36 hours later. It feels like I've ovulated only 15 hours after my positive!

This whole cycle is a bit weird as I'm not actually supposed to ovulate for another 5 days according to my app. I literally started LH testing yesterday as I was in, what I thought, was day one of my five day fertile window??

Have I completely missed out this month now?

I've added a screenshot of my tests. Please can someone advise on whether I should keep testing to see if I get another peak or was this it?

And can you ovulate twice in a month 🤔

24-36 hours is an average so you could ovulate earlier or later than that.

I don't think ovulation pains are reliable as a means of pinpointing ovulation. Certainly mine used to go on for hours and sometimes over more than one day.

You can ovulate for a second time in a cycle but it will usually follow the first ovulation fairly quickly.

Those tests- the first looks like a peak. I wouldn't bother testing after that but I know my cycle pretty well. There are women who might have more than one peak in a cycle- because the peak is supposed to trigger ovulation but it doesn't always (eg some women with PCOS). You could start charting your temperature in order to get an idea of when ovulation happens for you in relation to your LH surge.

I'm fairly sure the egg can hang around for 12-24 hours too so you may still have caught it if you DTD today!

Well the plot thickens! All day today I've had lots of ewcm and absolutely negative opks.

My body is obviously having some sort of rebellious phase and just chucking out ovulation symptoms left right and centre 🙄
