CB digi 3+ but u/s scan less than 4 weeks...

Hi,

I had an ultrasound scan yesterday as I have had a lot of bleeding and thought I was having a MC. I should have been 7 weeks from LMP, but my cycles are irregular so I wasn't that surprised when they said I was actually just under 4 weeks, and also have a subchronic haematoma which caused the bleed.
I did a clearblue Digital this morning as I wanted to keep an eye the HCG levels were going up and it came back saying 3+ weeks, which means I would be 5+ weeks pregnant. However at my scan yesterday they said I was just less than 4 weeks. So now I'm worried something is wrong, and that I should be further along but the egg has stopped developing at 4 weeks 😔 has anyone else had this happen?

Hi, didn’t want to read and run - firstly, I had a subchorionic hematoma with DD2 and all was fine; it was reabsorbed by 12 weeks so try not to panic about that. Secondly, the CB tests can be unreliable and can not always be in line with gestation so that also cannot be fully relied upon.

What you do know as a fact is that development is under 4 weeks right now, only another scan in 2 weeks will show whether the pregnancy will/is progressing. Have they offered you this?

I know it’s so hard to go through with all the uncertainty (I’m a veteran when it comes to TTC at this point so I do understand) but today, you are pregnant.

@ParentPerson thank you so much for your kind message. Yes I do have another scan booked in for next Wednesday so hopefully will know more then. It's just so hard the waiting and not knowing 😭

Just wanted to update that the scan was fine and the nurse reassured me about how unreliable the CB digitals are for dating 😊
