Help please. Chemical?

Ttc. I'm 13dpo...

On 10dpo I had a bfn with fmu. Later that day and all that night I had pinching pains/light cramping. I also had a possible squinter that evening.
11dpo bfn with fmu. Very very faint positive with smu. No more pains.
12dpo bfn, no other symptoms.
13dpo today. Bfn this morning and started to bleed lightly, spotting really. Some bright red, some brown. This afternoon I've had 2 more very faint positives. They weren't on much of a hold, urine was pretty dilute. Slight cramps this afternoon.

All have been one step cheap test. Today's faint positive is no darker than 11dpo. Hard to photograph but this is this afternoons. Does this sound like a chemical? All input appreciated, I'm on a rollercoaster of hope and despair!

Help please. Chemical?

Hi OP, sorry I've been there and it's awful.. it does sound like it's likely a chemical. If I were you, I'd splash out on the FRER or Clearblue digital and get a clear answer as those strips are really tricky to read.. but ultimately if you give it a few more days I think the answer will be clear from bleeding or not and a definitive positive test or not in a few days... I would have thought by 13dpo if it was a positive it should be a bit clearer but only time will tell.

Having said that, lots of women (when I posted for advice on bleeding in early pregnancy) gave me lots of positive stories where it all turned out alright for them.

Thank you for taking the time to answer @Rosiestraws I read my op back and thought if it was someone else's post I would probably say chemical too 😢 I don't have a frer but I do have a digital. I was thinking of using it in the morning but afraid to see the word pregnant and bleed anyway.

Unfortunately It’s sound like what happened to me last month. I usually have 23/24 day cycle and I didn’t get my period so I Started testing on cycle day 26-27 I had two very faint positive and four negatives. I stated bleeding on cycle day 28. It’s very hard mentally even if it was a chemical. I wish you the best 💕

Squintinghelp · 16/01/2023 17:24

Thank you @Justbelieve25 I'm sorry you've experienced that but thank you for sharing. It is hard, first bfp after a long time trying. I can't help hoping but I accept it doesn't look good.

Sorry OP I can't see the line on the test though looks like there might be a grey shadow which I'd read as negative. Could be the photo though.

Sending baby dust for next month!

@Squintinghelp sorry, sounds a bit like what happened to me… 3bfp’s every other day in the week leading up to AF (which was due on the Saturday). Friday mornings test was fainter than the Monday mornings.

Friday night I started to get some cramps and light pink on wiping, usually AF starts red so I was clinging onto hope. Saturday morning, right on time, red bleeding and cramps. I tested and was negative.

It’s so upsetting & disappointing, sending love! But like others say, you can only assess the bleeding yourself and see if you think it is actually AF, keep testing too and see what happens 🥰

Squintinghelp · 16/01/2023 18:38

@Emilia35 the photo is rubbish but light pink irl. Very faint though.

@Laul89 thank you. Sorry it happened you. Spotting is still light but more cramping so I expect it will be full af by tomorrow. Wish I never tested now.

@Squintinghelp 🥺 see how you go tomorrow. You could always ring your GP and see what they say. I had a call back from a nurse cos I wanted it on my records just for future.. however she didn’t really advise much.

Don’t beat yourself up too much, it’s so easy to get carried away with excitement. I’m now under the opinion that ignorance is bliss and I’d rather not know, so I won’t test till I miss AF. The wait kills me though 😩

Squintinghelp · 16/01/2023 19:46

@Laul89 I always test early, it's just become a given but after this that might change. Maybe it's a step closer to an actual bfp though 🤞 I appreciate your kind words.

@Squintinghelp yes that’s definitely the positive I took from it too, it means I CAN get pregnant! No problem, good luck and lots of baby dust 🤞🏼✨

Squintinghelp · 17/01/2023 10:01

Just to update, bfn this morning and properly bleeding. Thank you all for gently confirming the inevitable. It was what I needed to hear. Few things worse than false hope. Onwards and upwards x

Ah no, sorry you’ve experienced this. Onwards and upwards & lots of good luck for your next cycle 🤞🏼✨

I've just had a chemical and my experience was my positive test lines started getting more faint til eventually they were negative . I bled for 2 whole weeks with mine. If your line isn't getting darker every few days then I believe youve likely had a chemical . Hcg doubles every 2 to 3 days . Line shouldn't be staying faint . I'd recommend buying first response and taking them few days apart

GoT1904 · 18/01/2023 01:39

So sorry OP. 💐

If it's any help. I had negatives for several cycles when TTC.. Until my chemical. Then the month after I got a darker BFP and it stuck. I hope it's soon for you. Xx
