Help! Early miscarriage or implantation bleeding?

Hi all, I know only the next few days will tell but I'd still appreciate advise please as im super overwhelmed right now! Im 14DPO. had positives starting from 9DPO. My last test I took at 11DPO (first test in photo) with a dark line, however today I went for a wee and noticed some slightly pink/brown discharge. I'm not sure if this is normal or if this is sign of early miscarriage? I quickly drank so much water so that I was able to wee again and actually take a test and the line is definitely more faint (this is my 3rd wee of day too) so wondering if it's faint because of all the water I just had to be able to take the test or if this could again be a sign of early miscarriage? What do you think? Thank you in advance for any replies

Implantation bleeding most likely, I've had this with all pregnancies (failed and successful) so try not to worry. I even had light bleeding and huge period pains with my second child and was using tampons because I was convinced I was coming on. Good luck. Oh and ignore the feint lines, if you drink lots then you'll have diluted urine so it's not a good indicator of anything wrong

@aw19968 unfortunately there's no way to know, it's a waiting game. With my chemical my tests got lighter after being really dark then I started bleeding. Your test will be lighter because of the water, you'd need at least a 4-6 hour hold to get a reliable answer & even at that it might not be. If you want to see how it's progressing take another test tomorrow morning & compare, but if not wait it out & see how the bleeding goes. Hopefully nothing to worry about!

Firstly remember that these test are just to say whether you are pregnant or not and shouldn’t be used to show progression as too many things can affect them.

secondly if you drank lots of water that will dilute your urine so the test would show fainter. Also having a later wee can make it fainter again because it’s not as concentrated.

pink or brown (old blood) sounds like implantation bleeding. Try not to worry, it sounds quite normal.

Thank you for your response ladies, I took another test this morning after a night of holding my pee and the line is even more faint! I've had no more spotting though just the once. I've booked in a drs appt for 4pm to get my bloods done, I'll see what they say and only time will tell but thank you for your responses🤍🙏🏼

I'd probably just wait and see, without sounding mean it's a waste of a doctors appointment, if you are only 14/15 dpo your period would only be due now, if you hadn't tested early you'd just think it was your period starting. I've always hung on testing until my period was late, far better for your mental health and doesn't use up valuable nhs resources as a result of testing early. I'm surprised they agreed to do anything so early to be honest. Hope it turns out well, I've had spotting/bleeding and pain at 6 weeks and it turned out fine, I've had a miscarriage at 8 weeks just out the blue, it's luck of the draw. Just remember it's very common and doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you if it doesn't stick.

@aw19968 I'm sorry OP but it does look like a chemical. I do agree about it not being of much benefit going to the GP as you may start bleeding before you have the results & no matter what the bloods show nothing can really be done. But I know the desperate feeling of wanting help to know what's going on. It is really common & happens to many TTC. Take careFlowers

Whataretheodds · 17/01/2023 09:44

I'm sorry it's not the result you were hoping for. I'm wondering where you are in the country that you can get a GP appointment for this!

Thank you for your responses everyone 🤍 I had a miscarriage last summer so when I got that initial strong positive i was over the moon but you're right time will tell😢 my GP is amazing, I'm so lucky, I have other things to discuss with some hormonal abnormalities with her but the receptionist on the phone said they'll take my bloods too to see my hcg levels. I only just ovulated after 4 months so if this is a chemical I only hope my ovulation pattern returns quickly🤞🏼 did anyone else with a chemical pregnancy have their cycle return as normal the following month?

@aw19968 that makes sense now, that's good they will check things over with you your GP sounds great. So I had an almost negative test then the next day I have my 'period' which was a week late. I tracked ov & ov'd CD 20 which was maybe a day or two late for me so nothing drastic. I didn't conceive that cycle but fortunately did on the next & went on to have a healthy pregnancy. Wishing you all the best!🤞🏼

I'm sorry you're going through this. I had a chemical and then caught on the next month and I'm currently 34w pregnant. ❤️ I wasn't prepared for it so quick, my OV test didn't even get dark enough so I obv missed my peak. It's very possible you'll have a regular cycle after a chemical. Xx
