Agnus Cactus?

Hi, I was wondering if anybody has tried Agnus Cactus and had your experience of it.
TTC 3 year in March, my bloods are ‘normal’ and my husband just got his semen analysis results which are fine and normal also.
I have tried so many different vitamins to help conceive but they have messed up my cycles so I have given them up. I’ve ordered some Agnus Cactus as a next resort to take from CD1 up to ovulation. I think I lack the hormone that creates the cervical mucus and the heavy tender breasts as I never get these symptoms anymore and I used to every month.

Just wondered on peoples experiences of using Agnus Cactus x

Following as I’ve been considering taking Agnus Castus too as I’ve just had mirena taken out so thinking it might help regulate things as no idea of cycle now. but I’m not sure if it could muck things up further.

Also Agnus Cactus made me giggle 😂

Hey. I suffered from really irregular periods and never knew when i ovulated. I started taking myova and was pregnant with my second in a few weeks. Not sure if its a coincidence or not though

It hasn't helped me get pregnant but was good for my cycles. I was originally prescribed it by my naturopath to try help lengthen my luteal phase which seemed a bit short. I stopped taking it when I did IVF. Then after I stopped breastfeeding my first I started taking it and my cycles came back. I had a liquid bottle of it and I was told to take 4mls each morning from the day after my period stopped until it started again (gave my body a 5 day break each month). Tastes horrific so would suggest mixing with juice if you get it in liquid form. Good luck xx

@Khanny its a supplement that has been use to help promote menstrual health and balance your hormones. Have a look at their website (explains it better than I do 😂).

I had heard of lots of people using it on conception forums and seemed to have great reviews (and a few success stories). I just thought I'd give it a go!

Sorry, I thought this was a baby name suggestion 🤦🏻‍♀️

Abso bloody luetly!
Only reason I got pregnant. Very similar, no actual reason for not conceiving. 3 months on Agnus castus drops, the Vogel brand (spelling) and my cycle settled down. And after the 6th month I conceived.
Go for it!

Bronzeisthecolour · 13/01/2023 21:20

Yes! I took it to length luteal phase months after coming off pill & ttc. Month 2 of taking it I got bfp- I did also use conceive plus that month for first time too- worth a try.

SleekMamma · 13/01/2023 21:20

It does taste disgusting. But any decent herbal meds do.
It will only help to regulate your cycle. Much easier on the body than clomid, if that it's your next step.

soundsystem · 13/01/2023 21:39

I took it with DD2 as had a short literal phase. Was TTC for 16 months before I started taking it then conceived on the 2nd month of trying it. Obviously no way to know that that wouldn't have happened anyway!

rosebudbloom · 24/01/2024 06:55

@soundsystem Congrats! How long did you take agnus cactus for to successfully conceive? Not sure when I should stop taking it in my cycle xx
