2 days late, when would you test?

According to my period app which is usually pretty accurate, I ovulated on Christmas Eve (also all usual signs of ovulation then) I then had sex on new years day, the only time that cycle. I was due on Saturday but still no sign today.

It would be very unlikely to be preg, but I'm never usually late. When would you take a test? Have any of you actually fallen pregnant not having sex anywhere near ovulation day?

I'd have taken a test on the day I was due! You might have ovulated late, you never know. Take a test 😁

If you ovulated on Xmas Eve then not pregnant but everyone has the odd cycle where they ovulate later for various reasons so you may have ovulated later. So could mean you AF is still to come (as time between ovulation and AF is always the same) OR you could be pregnant.

Dtd New Years day only would mean if you are pregnant you’re not very many days dpo (max 8dpo) so chance is that it won’t show up on a test yet.

The egg only lasts 12-24 hours after ovulation so needs to be fertilised before then.

No harm in taking a test to see 😊

@allgoodthings84 I can see that you said on a few threads that the time between ovulation and AF is always the same.
Just FYI your luteal phase length can change, and it can vary cycle-by-cycle.

@JuniperandI just going by what I’ve been told by the fertility experts I’ve seen and by my own experience and by all my friends who have kids experiences

@JuniperandI it can change throughout your life such as getting older and if coming off the pill or breastfeeding etc but cycle to cycle should be the same until there’s a fertility issue

I'm in a very similar position.

Ovulation was expected around 23rd but I suspect it happened around 28/29th. Had unprotected sex on 29th and 30th.

AF was due 6th but going by the fact I think I ovulated late AF is due 11th or 12th?

So far I'm testing negative but have horrible symptoms (that could be chalked up to something else ie tummy bug)

I hate not knowing what's going on and have no patience.

Well negative this morning and still no sign of period. I'll leave it a couple more days and test again if no sign.

I have had bad cramps throughout the night and morning. 😭 Will test again but it's doubtful. This limbo land is horrible.

@When2test what are you hoping for, I am assuming you weren't TTC if you didn't DTD near your expected ovulation?

I wasnt actively trying but I'm now kinda hoping it's caught and is a early surprise as we had planned to try in the next year.

I wasn't TTC... My ex and I tried to for 2 years, had 2 miscarriages and broke up last year. We had a one off romp new years day. So while not planned and absolutely not the best situation if I was pregnant I think it would be an absolute miracle.

Nothing. Brown discharge is subsiding now too. There was definitely red in it yesterday and now nothing. TMI but I even put a tampon in yesterday and removed it after 3 mins or so just to see if there was more red "up there" but barely anything. I'm very very confused. Tests are still negative

Ooh could be implantation bleeding, and if you've only just implanted it would be too early to show on a test

@When2test ive honestly no idea but I feel so loasy. Nausea every hour or so. Never sick tho. Kinda wish I would be just to get rid of the nausea! Nausea only goes away when I lie down for 5 mins. 🤢
