Copper coil & ovulation

This might be a silly question but I can’t find an answer anywhere. Does anyone know if you can still ovulate while on the copper coil (non hormonal)? My partner and I are looking at starting to try for baby number 2 in a few months but I was going to try and starting tracking ovulation again beforehand as we don’t want to conceive before March/April as it’ll be so close to our daughters birthday and Christmas! Does anyone know the answer? Or should I just get the coil out and use condoms if we don’t want to conceive just yet? Also, my periods are all over the place, so is my ovulation which is why I want to track before we start trying :)

@Chloerobinson97 because it's hormone free you will still ovulate & have a natural cycle every month usually, it's just the copper that stops the sperm reaching the egg! So you'll be able to track your cycles to get an idea of when you ovulate etc before getting it out, hope this helps!
