How much do you dtd?!

This is probably a random question but how much are you doing the deed when trying to conceive and are there key days you focus on?

We have decided to try for baby number 2 this month. We were really lucky first time round but I feel a bit lost this time!! 😂

I think we did a few days before ovulation, the day before and the day of when we got lucky!

I would say the days before are the most important as the little guys can hang around and are more likely to be in the right place for when your egg is released but go with what works best for you!

First born every day and took us 18 months. Second born I think once it was a massive shock !

Week of ovulation, we had sex everyday. Before or after that, every other day. Was fun trying. Was so very lucky and it only took us 2 months.

with my first just once

this time round the 3 times I’ve gotten pregnant (2 early miscarriages/CPs) 3-4 times in the week leading up to and including ovulation. The 3rd time (currently 7 weeks pregnant) we missed ovulation day but did the day before ovulation, 2 days before ovulation and 4 days before ovulation. Did more before that too but wouldn’t have been within fertile time.

Scientifically, the best amount is every 2-3 days across your fertile weeks.

In real life we had sex every 2-3 days for the better part of two years (infertility) then conceived randomly when we had sex once in a fortnight period 🙄

We're on cycle 5. Have been doing it every 2-3 days, except this last cycle when we did it five days in a row. 9 times in the 12 days around ovulation. Fingers crossed, we'll see what happens!

Me and my DH had sex on the day of ovulation with both my DD and this current pregnancy (used OPKs). That was the only day during the cycle we did it. However, that's just me, so my experience is a bit meaningless at a population level. I think statistically you have more chance if you have sex during two days leading up to ovulation, the day of ovulation, and two days after.
