Depo Provera

New here..
Me and my partner decided in November when I was due my depo that I wouldn't get it again as we didn't want any further delays when trying for a baby. We are not being careful but not I suppose, 'actively trying.' We have sex almost everyday.
I was on the depo a few years back as I am not allowed on the pills and didn't fancy an implant/coil etc. When I came off it last time, I remember my periods returning quite quickly to normal and eventually much heavier than before contraception. I was due my injection on the 2nd November which I didn't get, so my last shot was early August. I did have a very mini (VERY mini) period last month with usual pains and symptoms I can remember from before as they stopped fully on BC shot. I thought this was spotting, however it lasted about a week then fully dried up.
I am just wondering other peoples experiences in coming off it for the second time please? Is it normal for my period to have been lighter due to the BC, and can I expect I may fall back on my period on my normal cycle, but gradually heavier?

TIA x

Took me 3 years to conceive after 1 injection in 2014. I’ve heard very similar stories and apparently now they limit the time you can be on it as it does affect fertility. Just to add; all my other children were conceived 1st or 2nd cycle so no usual fertility issues. Now pregnant with number 4.

Depo can delay the return of fertility by up to a year, sometimes longer. Hope you don't have to wait that long.

I have also heard this. I had it 5 times from when I started again, hoping I go back to normal as quickly as I did before. Congratulations on number 4 x

I had it solidly for about 3 years or maybe 4 and then the implant which I understand is same hormones. Came off in December (didn't have it renewed when due). Conceived in January x

Took me 10 years after depo to conceive.

I was on the depo for over 10 years

last shot was feb 2022

i didn’t get a period until November

it was normal and then a month later I was constantly on them 1 week of period and then a weeks break and then another 1 week period

it only started to calm down in June and now I’m pregnant

so its usually over a year

just the period drama is awful

Me and my partner are trying for baby number 2. I only received 2 shots if the depo and my last shot was in May 2023. I haven’t had a visit from auntie flo yet, l am waiting patiently and hopefully something happens soon.
