Cervical ectropion while ttc

So I am currently on cycle 2 of ttc baby no 2. Before having my DD I used to spot for 5/6 days before period. Mostly brown, sometimes pinkish and very light/watery/mixed with cm. Took 7 months to conceive.

WhI've pregnant, around 26 weeks I had a big 'bleed' and had these bleeds regularly until late in my pregnancy. I was diagnosed with a cervical ectropion and although annoying never interfered with my pregnancy. I had a healthy DD.

Never really had any spotting when my period came back at 3 months pp and up until a few months ago only would have a day or two of spotting before period but instead of brown would be pinkish/red.

Fast forward to ttc no 2 I'm now getting spotting (normally after a bowel movement) from around 10dpo until period. Sometimes heavy redish pink and sometimes barely nothing. It's EXACTLY like my ectropion while pregnant. I feel like it's triggered by hormones leading to AF and pretty certain it's the ectropion and not anything else.

Has anyone else had this while ttc and still had the spotting before a bfp? I'm convinced I'm out but I have no idea if I'd have this with a bfp as well and as a BFN

I am in a very similar situation.

Been trying to conceive 2 months and have 1 child. I also gave spotting from cycle day 25 ish to period starting fully around 4 to 5 days later.

I know I have a cervical ectophy as it bled very badly when 20 weeks pregnant and when I had a smear 12 months ago the nurse could see it and said it was large.

I have been wondering if the bleeding pre period was low progesterone but after reading a few threads on here I think it is likely the cervical ectophy bleeding.

I am currently cycle day 26 and started bleeding in 24 this month so can't tell if I'm out yet.

Have you got a BFP yet?

I had this 5 years ago and it was diagnosed after repeated bleeding during pregnancy. If I remember correctly the GP said it was triggered by hormones.

Thanks for replying. It could well be that causing it then.

Mine was only picked up on last pregnancy but I think it was caused by pregnancy as I had no issues before that.

Did it go away on its own or do you still have it?

Yes.

I've always spotted before my period. I had bleeds in pregnancy and had an ectropion diagnosed about a year ago.

I still spot now despite having an ablation done and not really having periods anymore.

I had a loooooong TTC journey with my first. I still spotted the months I got pregnant but it was less and not for as many days.

I was lucky and conceived fairly quickly but I bled a little bit in the first few weeks and then so much at 20 weeks and they sort of packed my insides for an hour or so untill it stopped.

Now I am trying to conceive again I'm wondering how it will effect it.

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 20/02/2023 16:46

Do they think it impacted you when you were trying to conceive?

Twizbe · 20/02/2023 16:51

No, the doctors always said the spotting was not the reason for us not getting pregnant.

It only took 6 months to get pregnant with my second so I tend to believe them.

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 20/02/2023 16:58

Ah that's good then. Glad to hear it was ok the second time.

Thanks for all your replies. It does seem likely it is that and I can stop panicking that it's low progesterone or super early menopause x

Still no BFP here, currently on cycle 4 7DPO. Spotting has continued to occur as normal every month. I had a smear last month and the nurse said she could see a bit of redness that was likely the ectropion but didn't look to terrible. I'm 100% sure it's linked to hormones just as it was when I was pregnant and have been told it shouldn't interfere with conception. I have no clue if I had one prior to my DD as my spotting was totally different so who knows 🤣
Only 4 months in to trying and I'm already so over it. I just want this to be our month so badly so I can stop worrying that there's something wrong with me. I think I'm going to buy the progesterone tests for next month if this cycle isn't successful.

Fingers crossed for you this month. I know what you mean it seems like a very long 2 weeks when your waiting to see if you are or aren't. I swear I have had way more twinges and weird symptoms than I ever had before we started TTC.

I messaged my docs on the app this morning and they said to come in for a blood test next month when I am around 23 days just to check progesterone is all ok. Might be worth trying them. Not sure if they offered me that because of my age though, I'm 36.
