First month TTC - driving myself mad!

My husband and I started TTC this month, I thought this would be a super exciting time but it's quite the opposite!

My period is a day late, I was that crazy person who did 3 early pregnancy tests (all negative), one today (still negative). I think the constant googling of every slight symptom I've had has just delayed my period as know I would be very lucky to conceive first month of trying.

I've decided I've got all my craziness out this first month and now will just relax and not symptom check every single twinge and headache (and not test until AF is late!)

Can't help but keep a little bit of hope that my test might be positive in a few days, but know AF is probably on the way!

You spend years trying not to get pregnant then all of a sudden you want to, such a shift in mindset that I never really acknowledged before!

@Alexandrababy1 yes trying for baby #1, and next ovulation dates according to Flo isn't for another 12 days.

@TaMcCro it's so hard not to let it consume you but there is so much else to enjoy and think about in life other than TTC. I don't want to live in this horrible anxious state for however long it takes so really making a conscious effort to remember how I felt before I started on this journey xx

How is everyone doing?
I'm 6DPO today and had no symptoms so far, starting to think this might not be my month ☹️xx

I'm 6DPO today and trying not to symptom spot or anything as I know I'll just drive myself mad. Sunday is 6 days before my period is due and I have some early detection tests so it'll be a test of wills not now use them. Luckily I'm at a christening on Sunday which will distract me from thinking about it. How is everyone else?

@northernmam it's so hard to not test isn't it, I tested this morning at 7DPO and was BFN😞I know I should've waited but now i'm just like mehhh. I've had no symptoms at all really apart from a few cramps at bed time but i'm thinking that was probably in my head 😂. How long have you been TTC?xx

It's really hard not to test! 7DPO is very early so try not to rule it out altogether 😊 this is our first month of trying for baby number 3. How about you? Xx

@northernmam I'm going to try and wait until AF is due now, which is Tuesday. My daughter was a surprise so we were really excited to actually start trying this time but it's so much harder than I thought, this is only our first try too😂.
Ooo that's exciting! How old are your other two?xx

Awww how exciting! But it is harder on you when you're tracking ovulation etc and just stuck in that limbo for two weeks! My eldest is 6 and youngest is 15 months. How old is your daughter? Xx

I took a test this morning 9DPO, I literally couldn't help myself and I think there's a teeny tiny line😭 i'll attach a picture.
AF is due on tuesday so I don't want to get too excited but OMG xx

Took a test this morning, period three days 'late' but negative test. Cycles still obviously longer and not settled post pill 🤣 hopefully AF comes soon!

I’m joining in too as it’s also my first time ttc and it amazing to see how many of us are in the same boat 😅
I was on the pill for 10+ years (most recently mini pill) and gave myself a Christmas present and stopped on the 25th. Made sense though as AF started. Since then I’ve tried with CB tests and cheapie OPKs to see where my body is at.
around CD18 I got stronger LHsurges but noting the app was picking up as positives and I’m still seeing the flashing smile for 6 days.
Been doing the baby dance every other day which is becoming quite the chore haha!
Im now CD21 and I’m getting more cramping so I’m half expecting it’s just AF getting ready to make an appearance.
Fingers crossed I can figure out my body soon enough to conceive properly!!

Your period was likely late because you’d worked yourself up so much
i recommend clear blue ovulation sticks - got pregnant first month of using them. Prior to that I used flo and when I compared with the sticks, flo was wrong.

Hi all can I join?

I'm cycle one of trying for baby number 2. My son is 4.

I have come off the pill after 3.5 years but feel really anxious this time! With my son I came off the pill after over 10 years and thought it would take ages to get pregnant, I actually got pregnant my second cycle 🤣 so it was a surprise but a planned one if that makes sense.

I'm trying not to get too worked up, I'm 5 years older now so wouldn't be surprised if it took a little longer.

Little update from me - blood test results say I'm severely deficient in b12 (been vegetarian since birthday but eat all the things I can that are high in it). Starting injections at the docs for 2 weeks on Monday. Guess what b12 affects?! Fertility! Really glad I went for the blood test and found this out. Am taking the usual folic acid, also vitamin D and omega 3 supplements, have ordered high strength b12 so can start that before the injections.

@SEG92 Omg that's what I have! B12 injections, they're honestly amazing. There's so many positives to getting the injections, they do hurt a bit but it's soooo worth it for how you feel after. Once you get your B12 sorted you'll probably fall pregnant really quickly 💖 sending lots of baby dust!

I took a digital test yesterday and it said i'm 1-2 weeks pregnant, it's super early so i'm trying to keep calm but i'm so excited, there will be 27 months between my daughter and the new baby which is lovely 🥺💖xx

So many people seem to have them, I don't have any symptoms but I'm excited if it gives me more energy 🤣 feel like this month might be a right off for TTC if my levels are so low but still going to try!

Also that was meant to say vegetarian since birth not birthday in my last message 🤣

Also trying to find anyone who got pregnant with a severe b12 deficiency (my level is 71 and the range is 120-900!). I know I'm getting it sorted just wondered if it's even possible to get pregnant this month, Google tells me it's unlikely!

So relieving to read that it’s not just me going mad in my first cycle TTC!

My cycles are 28-34 days and I haven’t used ovulation tests yet so not sure when I ovulated but I’m on CD24.

Two BFN yesterday and today, hoping I’m just testing too early ☹️

@kalixxx you might be testing too early, I got a BFN at 7 and 8DPO then got my BFP at 9DPO (really faint line). Also I found that the strip tests didn't pick anything up but the FRER tests did!
