As the title says I'm just curious
This cycle I took femara 2.5mg which made me ovulate day 14 usually I ovulate day 18.

We only managed to have sex on day 13
We tried again yday which was day 14 but didn't finish

Now I'm worried only doing it that once will affect our cycle.

I know it only takes 1 good sperm but everywhere says the more the better etc

Would like to know who's been successful in these circumstances
Thanks

Twice. Once on day of positive opk. Once day after. I conceived that cycle. Miracle considering my previous pregnancy was ivf. Never loose hope!

BuffaloCauliflower · 02/01/2023 09:16

I’m 38 weeks pregnant and got pregnant first cycle first try. It was timed day I ovulated or day before and we used Preseed lube. Previous pregnancy I got pregnant 3rd cycle (first using LH strips and Preseed) we DTD I think 3 times that cycle.

CZ9294 · 02/01/2023 10:11

With my first, we dtd three times in my fertile window - a day before ‘peak’, two days before ‘peak’ and five days before ‘peak’ xx

Ririi · 02/01/2023 10:19

I conceived bang on ovulation day, I was tracking my ovulation and just like you got it a few days earlier than usual.

I remember panicking we missed it, felt bad that we couldn't do it before the ovulation to increase our chances. We can't control everything, it's just chance. You do have a good chance of conceiving on your ovulation day so I have my fingers crossed for you!

Twice - once about 3 days before I usually ovulate and once approx the day of (I didn’t test for ovulation though, just going off cycle tracking and symptoms)

elevenplusdilemma · 02/01/2023 10:54

Once. Day of ovulation.

Sleepygrumpyandnothappy · 02/01/2023 10:56

Once. Day before ovulation.

First D.C. it took five months to conceive and we had sex every other day.

Second DC we had sex once that month and conceived…

IME the less you stress it happens easier . We put ourselves under a lot of pressure too much during trying to conceive DC one which made the sex mechanical rather than anything else.
We decided to take the pressure off after that and so didn’t stress about it at all.

Chill and relax and good luck.

I'm on cycle 18 now ttc number 2
So the whole chill and relax went out the window a long time ago really

I have to say, I don't agree at all with the whole idea about chilling and it'll work! I'm not sure there's any real evidence for that...it's all probably luck.
I've only been pregnant once (early miscarriage) but that was the month where we had sex every other day. The two around ovulation (which I assume is what got me pregnant but i dont know) partner was v stressed, almost didn't finish day before ovulation but got there and then day after ovulation a similar thing of him being stressed etc. It was mechanical and not romantic and all of that the whole month but it worked- and it was following NHS guidance rather than anything about checking peaks and SMEP or anything else. I have a long cycle so it was sex every other day for 22 days too (until I was sure I'd ovulated a couple of days before) so it was anything but relaxing!

2021lady · 02/01/2023 11:43

Yeah thats it isn't it. My daughter is nearly 3. We have been trying for our next since she was 6 months I guess as we wanted a close age. For the first year we relaxed. I didn't track I didn't stress we just went with the flow. We had sex when we wanted altho I tried to do it when I had ovulation symptoms etc but relaxing didn't do anything

With my daughter she took 8 months and it was only when we had sex like robots it worked. So no relaxing there either.

Sweet211 · 04/01/2023 22:49

Yes sorry

Pollywoddles · 04/01/2023 22:57

3 times, 12, 24 and 36 hours post trigger but I was on Letrozole and taking a trigger shot so it took all the guess work out of it.

Sweet211 · 04/01/2023 23:18

@Pollywoddles how many cycles of letrezole did you have? I don’t understand why my clinic can’t give me a trigger shot

Pollywoddles · 04/01/2023 23:22

@Sweet211 I had 7. Yeah, I don’t know why they don’t monitor cycles and give triggers when they’re giving ovulation induction drugs.

However I was under a private consultant and not in the UK so thankfully that’s how they do it here.

Sweet211 · 05/01/2023 10:08

@Pollywoddles . My clinics in uk under NHS I’ve got only 2 cycles left on letrezole .I’ve only bedded on 10,11 and 15th day of my cycle todays day 18 I tested today but not even a faint line on ovulation stick I think after you stop the letrezole you ovulate few days later, I had taken from day 2-6 and I had loads of cramps my legs were achy this was from days 11-15th now today not even a slight twinge. I’ve read online that it can take a good few months for letrezole to work.

Pollywoddles · 05/01/2023 12:06

I was ovulating on my own but due to my age and history my consultant prescribed Letrozole so that I’d have 2 eggs giving me double the chance so I’m afraid I don’t have any experience of how it works if you’re not ovulating. It did work for me for my purpose immediately though. If I were you I’d just BD every other day from CD 8 and then you’re covered.

Have you been temping and doing OPKs for every cycle? Might help you figure out if it’s working and if there’s a pattern to it. I did find that there was no rhyme or reason to it, sometimes my follicles grew faster than others. In the 7 cycles I took it day 2 - 6 like you and then I triggered on days CD 10, 13, 11, 16, 11, 12, 14 so earlier than a natural cycle as I used to ovulate on CD 15. I conceived on cycles 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
4 of them were chemicals and 1 MMC at 8 weeks, last one was a successful pregnancy.

buckingmad · 05/01/2023 12:15

twice. CD 19 and CD 21 and I think I ovulated CD 21 (33-35 days cycles)
