Question about basal temperature/natural cycle

new to natural cycle. I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if the basal temperature is the lowest measurement to record? Eg i go to bed at 12am and I wake up at 2am most nights as I have my toddler , I straight away take my temperature (because sometimes it takes a long time to get back to sleep) and keep it in my notes , then I go back to sleep - (sometimes I fall asleep back easily, sometimes I stay awake for 30min—1hr). Then finally i wake up 7am and also take my temperature.

Which temperature should I record? Is it the lowest of the 2 temperatures I took? Eg the one at 2am was 36.38 and the one at 7am was 36.58

It should be the one after the longest amount of sleep ideally you need a minimum block of about 4 hours. They do say you should take it the same time every morning but I have different wake ups so I just make sure it's been a long block of sleep and never had an issue

Oh I see! I have been choosing all the times I have had 2-3hrs stretch of sleep (go to bed at 12pm wake up at 2am or when my toddler wakes me), then I have a longer stretch of sleep but I never recorded that. I always thought it was the lower of the temperatures. Thank you for your help!
