Hi all 🤍 - I’m currently on cycle day 16 and just could really do with an opinion please 🙏🏼 on my ovulation tests - I’ve seen a really light line since testing from day 10 and thought I would of had a positive already:( my last cycle was 38 days though (unsure when or if I ovulated and wasn’t testing for this) so thinking perhaps I ovulate later hence the testing. Do you think todays line (cd16) looks like it’s getting darker? I know it’s not positive as it’s not darker than control line but what do you think?

I think it is looking slightly darker but if your last cycle was 38 days you likely ovulated around cd 24 so don't feel too disheartened if it's a small fluctuation and goes lower again tomorrow!

Have you used the premom app before? You can take pics of your LH tests and it gives you a numerical value of how strong the test line is compared to the control and plots it on a graph! It's free and totally takes the guess work out of trying to see if your lines are getting darker!

I second @Endogal ‘s recommendation: I use these strips with the Premom app and it’s been so nice to be able to throw the actual sticks away and have a nice graph to clearly see what’s happening! It also stores your period info, when you dtd etc.

Think I'm very close to my peak! Took the advice and the app is actually saying it's high/peak! Will start the new year off with some BD 😂 happy New Year! thank you for advice with the app everyone xx

Congratulations on your positive test too! I'm slightly confused with mine now, the test line isn't as dark as yesterday so now I'm wondering if that means I ovulated yesterday when it was dark or if I'm still yet to ovulate? The app confirmed peak yesterday so is it suppose to go lighter after this?

The sticks detect your surge of which ovulation can happen I think it's 12-36 hours after so it could have been yesterday or today. I would DTD for the next few days if it was me to be sure :)
I do use the sticks as a gauge but in honesty I've never really trusted them 100% . A while back we decided to DTD every day or every other day at from CD10 - as sperm can live for up to 5 days , up until my period or at the very least a week after the positive on the sticks and I tend to be led by my CM.

So happy for you! ☺️ we did some BD at 2am yesterday (New Years celebrations 😂) and then I peaked yesterday evening at 7pm but now the line is lighter so hoping we didn't BD to early! But will carry on today just in case 😂 I tend to get CM throughout my cycle so find it hard to judge with this but will start BBT next cycle if things don't work out this one. I've been pregnant before but had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in august last year, when I fell pregnant I was only off the pill for 4 days so naively I thought it would be easy to fall pregnant again. Staying positive for 2023 though!🤍

Hey everyone, just an update! I think I may have a positive test...only 8DPO so staying neutral as could be an indent line (will carry on testing) but regardless just wanted to thank you all for the suggestions of the ovulation apps for more accurate tracking etc this massively helped me this cycle for not going to crazy figuring out if line is getting darker for ovulation strips. Now we'll wait and see!

Congratulations @aw19968 I would say that looks positive to me, evap ones are normally extremely pale and more grey on the FRER from person experience. Fingers crossed! x
