Hi all

First of all....I hope everyone has had a lovely christmas!

Secondly...After 11 months of ttc and no luck i thought this month i would try temping. I have only used OPKs but we all know this doesnt confirm ovulation soo i could be getting my timings all wrong.

I have been using FF to track my temps but unsure as to when the coverline or the ovluation line appears! Please can someone take a look at my chart so far and confirm if i have ovulated yet? And what I am looking for haha i had a positive OPK on xmas day but think i couldve potentially ovulated xmas eve? I dont know.

Thank you in advance 💜

I don't use FF but my chart confirms ovulation by having 3 consecutive higher temps following 6 lower ones to me it looks like you haven't ovulated on your chart yet.

Are you using a basal thermometer and do you take it the same time every morning?

Did you carry on taking the opks to see that they got fainter?

here’s a previous chart of mine you can see there is an obvious temp increase after O

Hi @mummatara thanks for your response. I have kept taking them and they have got slightly fainter so not positive but lines still darker than i would expect so going to continue them as i think i had an LH surge but no ovulation.

Yeah i temp every morning at the same time, except the mornings where there are arrows, and using a bbt at 2 decimal places.

What tracker do you use?

Still no sign of ovulation....thought id get a temp rise today but dropped drastically.
Can the temp of the room etc effect the results? My thermometer was just left on the side next to bed and was super cod when i went to temp, i defo woke up with my mouth wide open 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ and my feet were out of the bed and freezing.

Now on cycle day 18....weird. had pos opk cycle day 11 and 12. Been continuing them and they were staying dark but not positive, last night they faded a fair bit.

Hi OP

I wouldn’t say you have ovulated looking at your chart. I started using BBT as I have irregular cycles, I use the app premom which works with their OPK strips too (the red on the chart is opk and blue is temp) you can see on mine a clear peak with opk and a temp drop at the same time followed by a consistent rise. I got my BFP this month so temp has remained high.

ideally your temp may drop the day before ovulation/day of peak and would then rise at least 0.2 for three consecutive days, and this confirms ovulation.

I have also attached my chart from natural cycles which is another app I use, you can see the green, is when my temp dropped for my last period, the red is waiting to ovulate, you can see where I ovulated where it is dark red, dropped very low and then rose and remained high, and the blue is my current temp as I am now 6 weeks pregnant.

how long are your cycles usually? How dark have the opk strips been when you feel your peak was?

@Havanalily1806 my opk was the same as colour as test line. Prior to this cycle i was using CB digital but i was getting too expensive. They were giving solid smileys on cycle day 15 /16. So i could well ovulate this time usually but guess i will have to see when temp spikes if it does at all.

Congratulations on your BFP. Hope my luck comes in 2023

@2022TTCBaby1 sorry I think I missed your message 🤦🏼‍♀️ I use femometer and natural cycles though I prefer the chart on femometer. I would carry on with the opks and see if you get another peak as it def doesn't look like you've ovulated yet on your chart. Maybe you had a lh rise but didn't actually ovulate I've heard sometimes you can get a couple of rises if the first one doesn't quite work

2022TTCBaby1 · 02/01/2023 12:36

Had another positive opk today and much darker than the last one. Also had a temp rise this morning. Hoping i dont miss the window as the other half has some tests thursday and we cant dtd for 48 hours before 😖 today and tomorrow morning haha

And that the temp stays high!

Hi OP

Usually you would expect a temp rise after you have ovulated, and a dip right before ovulation, looking at your chart it's possible that you have ovulated CD18/19, what were your OPKs like those days?

You will know more tomorrow if your temp rises or stays high again, good luck x

2022TTCBaby1 · 02/01/2023 18:41

@Havanalily1806 they were almost positive and positive but today the lines are darker than the test line. I have been reading up and have read that you can get an pos opk after ovulation has occured....so might be the case. Fingers crossed to temp staying high.

Had to disregard temp....very disrupted sleep :( woke up at 3am, 4am, 4.30am and then finally again at 6.30am. Annoying

@2022TTCBaby1 Hey so with your OPKs you want to stop doing them once you get a positive as LH remains in your system in varying degrees once it peaks during your cycle so it can get very confusing. It is a good idea to begin testing around CD8-10 to make sure you're not missing the window, these surges can come and go very quickly. Also, if you do ovulate, your temperatures should surge sharply soon after your +opk which doesnt look like the case from your chart. Make sure you are using a BBT thermometer that goes into two decimal points. I had an anovulatory cycle back in September. I never caught a surge so that was a write off for me....

My cervix is high and soft and has been for a couple of days, RHR has also increased in this time.

@2022TTCBaby1 you had your positive OPK, so your brain released LH to signal your ovaries to release the egg but only a temperature shift will confirm ovulation actually took place. The temp rise you got yesterday isn't that high - the shift is marked by a much higher temperature than the ones pre-O.
The general recommendation is if ovulation is not clear, to continue DTD just in case, but if your cycles are 28/30 days id say its quite late for ovulation now. Dont be alarmed by an anovulatory cycle - it appears they are quite common. Good luck

2022TTCBaby1 · 03/01/2023 16:26

My cycles have ranged over past 11 months with an average of 31days. This is month 12. I am having cramps today, dull, but like an ache. On the right but central.

I have read some women get a gradual temp rise and as i have slight endo i feel this may be me. And that ome women ovulate as late as day 21. As this is my first month temping i have no idea on previous cycles. But i will get the hang of it!
The positive opk yesterday was darker than i have ever had....double the darkness of the control line.

Hi beautiful ladies! I need some opinion here on what you think! This is our 5month TTC and 3rd month charting- im using a reliable ovulation thermometer and taking temp same time every morning. I do have a cycle of 31. (yesterday was cycle 31 and today af is due). My BBT has always dipped either the day before or day AF shows. Today, I was supposed to start AF but temp remains high. We only baby danced twice this cycle though, the day before I ovulated and 3 days before. My ovulation was confirmed based on clear blue OPK, EWCM and BBT. I am also experiencing far less symptoms this cycle than I have in previous months. The last two cycles I seriously just knew I had to be preggy because I was nauseous all the time, lower backaches, wet cm, very sore boobs and cranky all the time but ofcourse af showed up!! Ughh! . Though this month all I really had was a bit sleepy that usual, very sore boobs on 10-12dpo and very little cm that is almost dry. I know I should just test but I'm trying to wait to see if AF shows today or atleast until tomorrow, so far no signs of AF yet(fingers crossed). Has anyone else had their temp remains this high or a similar situation and got a BFP? Here’s my chart. Give me some hope here ladies :(
