We've been ttc for 2 years, have never had a sniff of a line on a test in all that time, have started fertility appointments, testing, etc. Early in December I had a cervical dilation and HSG and was told that can sometimes result in pregnancy in the couple of months following.

Not sure if it was psychological based on that info, but I had a feeling something was different this month (although you know what the TWW is like, every tiny thing I have convinced myself for around 2 years that this is our month). AF was due Xmas day but not uncommon for it to be 2 days late so I was trying not to get my hopes up.

Tested this morning on a cheap Asda test and this came up (the line looks slightly darker IRL).... A faint line!!! I have never seen one before. Is this real? Should it be darker by now at this stage?

What's the best thing to do next, test again in a couple days to see if it gets darker? How soon do I call the doctors?

I really want to get excited but after all this time, I think I'm guarding myself as don't know how I'd handle the disappointment.

Too soon to get excited?

Deep breath!!! Your pregnant! Congratulations 💖 if it makes you feel better then test again and see that line again and slightly darker but don't get hung up on how dark it should be. Enjoy the moment. I phoned the midwives at 6 weeks so book myself in and had my booking at 8 weeks. I'm now 29 weeks xx

That is definitely a line! It's mad when you've been trying for so long and disappointed so many times to see that positive result, isn't it? Congratulations! You can self refer to the hospital you want to give birth in now from about 6 weeks, I believe.
