Hey all
Second month trying and think may have messed up again!
Would like to know your thoughts please!!! I have two advance purple clear blue digital ovulation kits.

Wednesday-test one in morning, blank circle
Test two in the morning, blank circle

Thursday-test one, in the morning, solid smiley

Friday-test 2 in the morning, solid smiley

Due to oh being away we didn't dtd until Saturday morning
Was it too late?
Based on the above when would you say i ovulated?
I do not know what happened this month as normally I get flashing smileys!

Anyone?

@user000 i always found I’d get a peak on the clearblue a day or 2 before the cheap LH strips, so you might still be in with a chance if you dtd the next morning!

I’ve read sometimes oestrogen and LH can rise simultaneously giving a static smiley only and no flashing smileys. May be the case?

For the last two cycles I got a blank circle straight to static the next day, around cd7/8 which is far too early…. So I decided this can’t be right and decided to do non digital OPKs too and got positive LH results around cd 13/14 which makes more sense… what cycle days were you testing on?

My cycles are 34 days long though

Sometimes. Few days shorter
But can you even get pregnant if you dtd the day after ovulation?
I thought the egg can last 24 hours
But feel this isn't correct

@user000 you might not of ovulated until Saturday or Sunday, think it’s normally 24-48 hours after your peak!

Oh great so could it work i eg ovulated Friday and then conceived Saturday?

You’ve been TTC for two months? I would recommend stopping all this stressful testing and have sex every other day.

The LH surge (static smiley) indicates ovulation will happen on average 12-36 hours after. So definitely still in with a chance. Though if you're wanting to test ovulation etc I'd recommend the cheap strip tests off amazon. You'll see the line getting darker as you head towards your surge and then you'll see your "peak".
Honestly though, there's a lot to be said about listening to your body, the cervical mucous etc and just going with it. Dtd every other day and just enjoy yourselves.

Very sound advice snd I'd totally follow but oh is a shift worker!

Oh and sorry not only 2 months! But just giving examples of how we did it the last two months as before we weren't doing ovulation stix and
I had my window open at off

It may work better for you just using cheap strips if it's a case of planning around shifts.

Ovulation is typically 24-36 hours after your LH begins to rise. So once your strips start getting darker you know your window. Then when you get your "peak" strip, it's 8-20 hours. Also remember sperm can live in there for around 5 days and you tend to want it there waiting for the egg. So I'd say once you know roughly when you're going to ovulate from a pattern, crack on a few days before and then through your surge if possible.

Look for egg white mucous as this is a good time to get busy!
