Please help as I am rather confused
To cut a long story short and safe boring you all...I had 5 straight days of flashing faces and then got my static, once my 48 hour window had disappeared I rechecked expecting to see a empty circle, however I am now back to the flashing smiley face which has been flashing now for another 3 days or so? The blue line is also still rather strong,
Should I stop testing? Or should I expect another solid smile?

I think you're supposed to stop testing after the solid smiley. It's possibly giving you the flashing smiley again because you still have some of the hormones in your body, which I think is normal after ovulation?

With the digital OPKs once you have your static it won’t really work after that until next cycle. They’re meant to reset themselves so the first one you always do will be a circle negative as it measures a base line. I have used non-digital OPKs at same time and find my LH line stays half solid for a while after my peak until it drops off.

The flashing smiley is measuring a rise in oestrogen, oestrogen rises first before LH hence why the digital OPKs give flashing smileys letting you know LH peak / ovulation is approaching. The reason (from my understanding ) you’ll see flashing smileys after ovulation in same cycle is because oestrogen doesn’t just drop off after ovulation. Oestrogen rises until LH peaks (ovulation) and oestrogen then drops and rises a little again during luteal stage / 2 week wait) if you google graphs of LH and oestrogen it can show you what a ‘normal’ cycle looks like for these hormones
hope this helps :)
