TTC after surgery

Dh and I had been struggling ttc for 3 years. I had an accident this year and needed major colorectal surgery as a result. Now everything I read says I shouldn’t even try to get pregnant for 1-2 years. I’m gutted. I’m 41 and don’t have this time.
Has anyone else experienced ttc after surgery and do you have any advice? Thanks

Hi, sorry I can’t speak from experience but I would advise you speak to your GP or the consultant you are with re the surgery? Do you have post op follow up meetings with a consultant? Can explain your TTC and conscious of your age to see if they have any medical advice or options for you. Sorry I couldn’t be more help and sorry to hear your situation, good luck x

Hi, thanks for the reply! I do have a gp appointment booked to discuss it, but just wondered if anyone else had been through similar.
