Feeling like a faliure

Day 31 of my cycle and i've just tested and it's negative, this will be the 8th month of trying and every month it gets harder and harder.

We had some private testing last month HyCosy for me and sperm test for him. His swimmers on the lower side of normal range but my ovarian reserve was above average for my age, so why is it so hard? I convinced myself reading on here about the boost in fertility that we would conceive after the procedure.

We have his family over for Christmas and they're all so excited for us to be pregnant I feel like I have let everyone down now. I'm embarrassed to tell my SIL.

Another month even feels impossible to wait.

Keep going ! It took me 9 months to conceive my first.
Stress is not good, try and relax, distract yourself from it. Easier said than done, I know.

It's very normal for it to take a year. It's simply about chances, every month you have a certain chance of being lucky or not.

However, also make sure you're tracking ovulation effectively. I realised I thought my ovulation was earlier than it was. I used clear blue with a smiley face, I think it will help. Try this or temperature method. Also it's hard but stay calm, try whatever you can to help you relax.

Thank you both, I definitely have read a lot about the effects of stress but it is so hard not to obsess over it!

I don't want to minimise how you're feeling but 8 months isn't long in the scheme of things. Up to a year is average. We took 10 months to conceive DS. You'll get there!

You are not a failure it's just not your time yet.

The window is actually so small to conceive. Remember when we were teens and thought you could get pregnant off a toilet seat or a man glancing at it... little did we know!

I just wanted to say I’m in the same boat and you’re not alone :) 8 months TTC too. Tried all sorts, using OPKs, fertilily, conceive plus, now tracking BBT…. Everyone around me seems to be falling pregnant so quickly and I think it’s good to remind ourselves that a year is normal and we’re not alone, you’re not a failure at all. Sending you lots of luck and baby dust x

Thank you for the messages. Logically I know 8 months isn't long at all but I'm sure you all relate that every month feels like a year right now! I wish I could switch off an relax but it seems impossible not to think about it I even dream about testing! X

It's only been 4 months for me and I'm already getting this feeling. I totally understand that every month adds to that worry that maybe there is something wrong. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Harper02 · 19/12/2022 07:44

I hear you, currently in my tww of month 9. It's so hard😓

vitahelp · 19/12/2022 10:53

Cycle 9 here and I know exactly how you're feeling. I'm in a similar place to you so can't even think what to say to make it better, but I just want you to know you aren't alone.

Lolly2507 · 19/12/2022 10:59

Thank you all it's so comforting to know im not alone or crazy to feel this way. Hopefully good news for us all soon!

I know its crazy isn't it, we were so specific about when we were going to start trying as we really thought it would happen right away for us. But here we are!
