Anyone get lucky with 3rd BFP after 2 CP’s?

I have just had my bfp for the 3rd cycle in a row. The other 2 cycles both ended in CPs at 18dpo. I always start AF 13 days after ovulation. I track ovulation with opk’s and have had progesterone (and others) bloods at doctors twice so know they are accurate for me.

I spot every cycle for 3-4 days before AF (95% of the time it’s 4 days). With my first CP (October) I spotted a smidge on 10dpo and 12dpo. With my second CP (November) I started spotting as normal on 9dpo but stopped on 12dpo day before AF was due.

This cycle I have had any spotting at all and am now 14dpo. I did a cheapie one step test on 12dpo to check if it was worth me getting a frer even though I knew I must be as no spotting. It was positive. Darker than any one step I have done before so I did the frer this morning at 14dpo and it’s definitely confirmed it but I’m so scared it will end the same way for the cycle in a row!

anyone had 2 CPs then go on to have a successful pregnancy the 3rd time?

I have attached my 12dpo one step, 14dpo frer from today and the 14dpo frer from last cycle too. I know I can’t trust in the lines as it doesn’t really mean anything I’m just so wanting this to stick

Aw it so much darker this time! I hope that means something for you xx 🙏🏻

Laul89 · 17/12/2022 12:13

@allgoodthings84 I had a chemical last month so I know how hard it is… but look at your line this time 👏🏼 so much darker!!

It fills me with dread testing this time… AF due on Wednesday so hoping to hold off testing till Friday 🥺🤞🏼

Please keep us updated.. I have everything crossed for a sticky one for you this time! ❤️

allgoodthings84 · 17/12/2022 12:29

@Hopefulfor4 I really hope so and hope it’s 3rd time lucky

@Laul89 it really is horrible. I’m sorry you had one last month too sad 😞. I think if it happens again this month I will feel like giving up after 3 in a row. I’ve had blood tests all normal and they won’t look further until I’ve had 3 miscarriages and even then can take a long time. I know what you mean about dreading testing. I knew I was pregnant again because of no spotting but I was expecting another faint line. I’m dreading so much taking the other text in a few days time (to check it’s not getting fainter again). It really takes the shine off a bfp doesn’t it. It should be exciting but it’s scary.

@allgoodthings84 yeah totally takes the excitement away… before this I had no clue it was a thing 🥺 if I’m lucky enough to get a BFP this week I’d love to tell my parents on Christmas Day but I just feel like I don’t dare incase I start bleeding again. Last time it started on the day I was actually due AF as I tested early. I keep thinking surely if AF doesn’t come it’ll be more likely to be fine cos I’m not going to test till I’m late.. but you just never know do you!

Your line looks lovely & strong so I’m sure you’re going to be fine 🥰🤞🏼 keep me updated! ✨

allgoodthings84 · 18/12/2022 19:50

@Laul89 I’m definitely never telling anyone before I see a scan now. I didn’t test for either of my previous CPs early and still had losses at around 5 weeks but the lines were faint as can see. I’m really hoping this sticks.

My resting heart rate started to drop overnight and both time before it didn’t start dropping until the day I started to bleed (which was a couple days after the positives turned negative) so I took another cheapie one step this morning in a panic expecting to see a mega faint line or nothing but it’s darker not lighter. The top one was Thursday (12dpo) and the bottom one was today (15dpo). I tested day before AF was due this time as knew I was pregnant as none of my usual spotting.

so not sure what to think as my resting heart rate dropping usually means a CP or AF starting but the tests suggest otherwise

I know what you mean.. I didn’t even tell my husband I’d had the positive tests cos I wanted to wait until I’d missed my period which obviously didn’t happen so told him then. You just want that 100% assurance that everything’s ok don’t you!

That’s so good that your line is stronger! I know it must be hard but I would try and go on nothing but that now cos otherwise I’d be too stressed about it! Are you going to book in with the GP? I definitely think your darker line is good news as like you say they were much fainter last time! 🤞🏼

I have quite long cycles so if all goes well
I will be 5 weeks on Christmas Eve. Still holding off testing till Thursday/Friday if AF doesn’t arrive on Wednesday 🫣
Did you have any other symptoms? x

allgoodthings84 · 18/12/2022 23:45

@Laul89 I booked in right away the first time and it was fitting having to call back to cancel so I’ll wait until I’m 6 weeks.

Each time I had slightly different symptoms but this time I didn’t have any really apart from no spotting at all from 9/10dpo and some light stitch like feelings around 8dpo. That’s it before AF was due. Now I have very slight cramping occasionally but no idea if good or bad as know that’s normal either way. Nothing major. My boobs are firmer but not painful and tingly feelings in my nipples every so often but again this was after AF was due. The other 2 times my boobs were firmer but also a bit sore until I started bleeding.

I got a BFP after 2 back to back MC (and CPs before that). Took me a while 2 weeks to tell DH this time! I have spent the entire year pregnant and/or miscarrying, not a single month unaffected! Currently 23w. Only told my wider colleagues on Friday (my immediate team and manager knew), and I still haven't told all my friends. Losses of any kind definitely take the shine of a BFP.

Put the tests away for now, they'll only drive you potty and add to anxieties.

Congrats on your BFP and 🤞 it's a sticky bean!

I would be feeling very optimistic if I was you...your 14dpo test is so dark!
I know they say 'a line is a line' but I do feel that the darker the line the stickier the baby!

I had many months of back to back chemical pregnancies before one stuck, I now have an 8 month old daughter.
And now I'm currently 5DPO and fairly certain this month will be a positive one for me after chemicals the last 2 months.

It's interesting to read that others have had consecutive CPs as well.
It seems our issue isn't with getting pregnant, it's staying pregnant...so that would be to do with egg quality right?

I'm an older mum so it makes sense in my situation at least.

allgoodthings84 · 19/12/2022 15:01

@Margo34 thank you for posting. It’s lovely to hear it’s possible this pregnancy may progress. It’s not my first child and she was a surprise but my daughter is 7 now

@ohblahdeeohblahdahlifegoeson when I got that line I was so excited as my CP 14dpo tests were both faint but then my mind kicked in saying it means nothing. I guess I find it unbelievable that it could actually stick. I’ve had an appointment with my doctor (before this bfp) and he said my partner needs to have a speed analysis and then he will refer us after the results are back. He said it’s just as likely it’s sperm issue as egg quality. I’ve just turned 38 and from my bloods he doesn’t think it’s an issue with my age but can’t be sure of course. I have a 7 year old. I keep thinking it’s my age but who knows.

@allgoodthings84 yes sounds like a good idea to wait until 6 weeks 🥰

AF arrived this morning a couple days early
for me 😢 I’ve found it a little easier as I haven’t seen that positive test this time round.. although I do wonder to myself whether this is another chemical as like above I’m wondering if I can get pregnant but they aren’t sticking.. I guess ignorance is bliss though and we’ll just keep trying and hoping for the best!
Have a lovely Christmas and good luck for the rest of your pregnancy 🥰✨
