6 days late...

Hi All,

After a while TTC I had a little break and have not been thinking too much about it. (Still tracking AF and O but not putting any pressure on myself).

However, this month I am 6 days late for AF.. I took a test on Tuesday evening (very diluted urine) but it was negative.

Could this just be an extra late AF or would you test again?

TIA x

I think LP tends to always stay the same so if you know when you ovulated then AF should be the same amount of days after ovulation as usual. How many dpo are you?

I would test again, but in my (extensive) experience of ttc this does just happen sometimes. Sometimes you don't ovulate one month maybe, or if you've been ill or stressed that can affect things, or sometimes just because our bodies like to mess with our heads.

Thank you for the replies!

@allgoodthings84 - I would say I'm around 22DPO (roughly) could be a few days give or take!

I may test again if af doesnt make her appearance tomorrow. i have never been this late before so this is strange for my cycles x

I've recently had a random 3 month long cycle. Gp advised to keep testing weekly just to check but AF finally did arrive. I just obviously didn't ovulate for 2 months. It can happen, so just keep testing in the mean time😊

@line123eyesalways when you say you track ovulation how do you track it as you then say it could be a few days out?

I would think if you’re 22dpo then the test on Tuesday would have definitely shown a positive if you are pregnant. It could be like other posters say and it’s an anovulation cycle, apparently it happens to most women occasionally

@Cm078 - It may just be a missed ovulation month then! it's very strange isnt it! x

@allgoodthings84 - I use an app to track everything, which is why it could be a few days out.. i haven't been taking O tests for the last few months to try and give myself a bit of a break x

Ahhh ok. So if not opk’s just the app then it could be that you ovulated later this cycle (can happen for many reasons) so not really late yet. Fingers crossed you could still get a bfp if that’s the case
