No period & negative tests!?

Hi Everyone,

We have been ttc since September 21 and got pregnant in the summer 22 but had a early miscarriage at 5 weeks. I am very lucky with the fact my periods are always regular and come within a day or two of being due. I was due on Friday 9th but still no period and negative pregnancy tests? Has anyone had this before? Cramps come and go so sometimes I feel like I am going to come on then they go. Any advice please?

hi, no advice im afraid but I am literally in the same boat as you. we have been ttc for 5 yrs and finally fell pregnant in the summer but miscarried at 5 weeks. My period is normally like clockwork and was due on the 10th but its still a no show and all negative tests. I keep feeling like its started and then… nothing. It’s horrible and distressing so i have decided to stop testing and wait a little longer. I guess thats all we can do for now, wait a while!! fingers crossed for us!!

Thanks for taking the time to reply lovely. It's so frustrating not knowing where you stand isn't it! I might call my GP Monday but I'm not sure whether they will do anything. Xx

It really is…. the 2ww is bad enough but throw a delayed period into the mix and its a recipe for stress!

Similar boat as you although I just got my AF today after being 5 days late. I usually spot for a day or two before AF as well and had no spotting this time so I really got my hopes up.

I have read that for some women it takes a while for the hcg levels to be high enough for a preg test to say positive. Have read sometimes it can take an extra week or so to appear positive. Have you tried a clear blue early detection test?

Sorry you’re in a bit of a waiting game at the moment, my fingers are crossed it’s positive news!

I was 8 days late a few months ago & usually regular as clockwork. We were TTC. It was torture, getting negative tests (I did 13 actually!) eventually AF arrived. I genuinely think it was my mind/body & the pressure I was putting it under TTC, because in 20 years of having periods I have never been more than 3 days late, absolute max.

Hi All, I'm also in the same boat. Been ttc for about 9 months now with no luck at all. AF was due on Monday, bfn on Wednesday and gearing up to test again tomorrow if the witch doesnt arrive. A wee bit tmi but I have lots of white creamy cm which is unusual for me before AF. Just need some clarity either way...feeling the torture of going beyond the 2ww.

It is comforting to hear we are not alone in this, it makes me feel less crazy and obsessive! Still no sign of af but going to test again today or in the morning. We are having a christmas party tomorrow and im thinking its probably best not to have a drink if my
period hasn’t started just in case and then i think im daft for thinking theres a chance im pregnant!!!! nightmare!!.

@orca147 right there with you. Another negative test this morning but going away with my friends this weekend and felt the need to make up some lame excuse about why I cant drink much. So rubbish if it comes to nothing!

I was so naïve before I started my ttc journey as all my friends and family have gotten pregnant straight away and never had any problems. I thought It was going to be an easy ride for me too! Since I have been ttc my husbands sister, my sister, husbands best friends girlfriend and now my brothers sister have all had babies or pregnant so it's been challenging but I know other women have it so much worse than me so I try to stay positive! I am going to test again tomorrow... fingers crossed xx

Ah it's a total pain....I've got a feeling af might come for me soon though, slightest pink tinge (tmi) on toilet paper this evening :(

Hi all I'm the same. Period due last Wednesday 13th roughly but I did ovulate latish around the 5th Dec and DTD that day. Took 2 tests so far one on the 13th another on the 16th both neg. I've had a teensy bit of spotting last Thursday. Haha debating whether to spring for more tests as I have a Christmas party this week. My cycles have been a bit irregular the last few months too. Torture!!!

Hi @Woofins sounds like you are still quite early going by your ovulation date. Although in saying that I didnt track my ovulation at all this month as we wanted to take the pressure off to see if that worked better...very much regretting that decision now 😂

It's just the worst wait isn't it. My cycles are always regular so I just don't understand why I'm so late for this one. Still having negatives so not sure what to do. On the nhs website it says visit your gp after 3 missed periods so not sure if they will do anything?

@Shutt maybe you could ask your GP for a blood test?? when I had a chemical pg a few months after my mc they were very quick to do a blood test for me as it was very confusing as to what was going on.

Hey, we are TTC no2 and I was due Saturday but late... like others I am usually regular and if anything the last 6 months I've been coming on 2-3 days early.

I've done two tests, one Friday and one today, both negative. I've also had some lower abdomen pain.... I think if I haven't come in by Wednesday ill ring the GP. As I know I will just worry all over Christmas otherwise.

@Shutt Hope you've managed to get a GP appointment today.

Just before I was going to make an appointment AF arrived! Slightly relieved as it has put my mind at rest for Christmas and New Years now. Fingers crossed that 2023 is the year for all of us! <3

u both must be relieved it’s started, im getting anxious now, still no af and still negative. i managed to get an appointment with my gp but its not until thursday and its a phone appointment so not sure how helpful thats going to be!

Mines has stopped 😫. I'm of the mindset blood is blood but it defo wasn't enough to consider it cd1. Cant cope! Aw thursday feels like ages away eh? Hopefully they'll get you booked for bloods from then? X
