I'm 35 trying to conceive for 14 months with a MC almost a year ago .. I've googled the AMH results they look to be on the lower side for my age , has anyone conceived with AMH levels on the lower lower side of the range ? Next step is being referred to a fertility clinic and also my OH to be tested . I'm just wondering do I need to start preparing myself for a long road of medications hormones etc ? Very hard to not freak out right now feeling very upset and devastated.

Hi @LizzeyBenett. A little success story which I hope helps you. I conceived naturally with an AMH of 3.4, so about half of yours! It took 13 months and a LOT of trying though. I was devastated when I got my results too, I also had an AFC of 2 and an FSH of 24, it was very bleak. We'd already decided we weren't going down the IVF route but thought we would continue to try naturally and see what happened, and I'm currently 22 weeks. Best of luck to you.

AFC of 7, AMH 6.09 and FSH of 16 here…first baby was IVF, first round success and second baby was a natural conception so anything is possible! Your numbers don’t automatically mean IVF is a must!

The private gynaecologist I saw said AMH level isn't a super reliable indicator. It is more important to count how many antral follicles you have.
I am the same age and have AMH of 5.3 (which is on the low side) but have 60th percentile levels of antral follicles. Gynaecologist said all should be fine as follicles are more important and nothing to worry about.
Hope this helps!

@LizzeyBenett Hi - I'm 36 with AMH 6 and AFC of 8. Tried for 4 years and conceived with ivf.
Had one failed round on NHS which produced no eggs and then successful first transfer on my private cycle.
Wishing you lots of luck xxxx

@LizzeyBenett I wouldn't be worrying ... your OH results play just as big a role in this as your results. Your AMH score shouldn't impact you conceiving naturally - the best time to really think about this as a score is when you're going for IVF as it's more of an indicator for the hospital about what meds to give you etc. with a lower AMH, you're less likely to get a big collection of eggs but equally yours isn't THAT low.... quality (which can't be tested is more important). I conceived naturally with 10.7 (low for my age) and my friend just had a surprise pregnancy and her AMH was 3.5 last year. Best of luck!

Mine was 5.6 at 32. We found out when doing ivf due to my husbands very poor count due to cancer.

We did two rounds of ivf to save for a second child (no transfer). Ended up with 5 excellent quality blasts.

Then went for transfer only to find out I was pregnant naturally. With twins. Sadly lost one twin but we are celebrating our daughters first birthday next week :)
