How long for second pregnancy after quick first

Hi everyone

Just looking for some insights. I fell pregnant easily (first attempt) however this sadly ended in MMC. 2 months later I became pregnant again with DS who has turned 1. We are TTC for number 2 and I’m on month three and I think it’s going to be another BFN.

I maybe naively thought as I fell pregnant easily twice before that it would be the same again this time.

How long did DC2 take to conceive for you?

Thanks in advance!

I conceived DD1 at age 28 on the first cycle; I'm
now pregnant with DC2 at age 32 and conceived on cycle 4.

DC1 was very quick. 1-2 cycles. I was 24.

Dc2 took ages, maybe 10-12. I was 30 so presumed it was because I was older.

DC3 aged 31 complete accident. Had sex once that month!

Thanks for the replies.

I am 36 but have a decent AMH and recently had a scan for an unrelated issue that showed plenty of follicles so while age may be an issue I thought my fertility was okay based on the above

I forgot how stressful TTC can be

DD1 first cycle
DS2 third cycle (three years after DD1)
DS3 had purposefully no contraception after DS2, 9 months after DS2 was born got pregnant but miscarried week 13, followed by two back to back week 5 miscarriages until getting pregnant with DS3.

There are so many things that can affect how easily you get pregnant. Some of us will need more time between pregnancies for hormones to settle back into normality. Good luck. Hope it happens soon for you!

somuchtolearnabout · 06/12/2022 20:23

First month with DS1 (tracking cycle)
3 months without tracking cycles, and another 3 months with tracking cycles for DS2 (
Currently pregnant with with DC3 one month after discussing with DH that we wanted another baby. We weren't "trying" but I wasn't using contraception. Wasn't tracking cycle.

There's no rhyme or reason for why sometimes it takes slightly longer. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong, so please don't panic. Like you say, there's no reason it won't happen for you soon

Aw sorry 😔 hopefully it happens soon for you. I conceived on month 3 with my son, he’s also 1, now on month 4 ttc our second. I did have quite strong symptoms this month as before now I really didn’t have much hope it would be anytime soon but they seem to have disappeared so I have no idea how long this is going to take 🙈 I think I had 3 months in my head as a maximum

First found out already pregnant the month before we wanted to 'try' had coil out in July conceived in September.

Been TTC number two for 2 years. 😞

Had all relevant tests..as post first child my cycles have gone all over the shoe! Just waiting for my appointment to begin ovulation Inducing medication

Good luck 🙏

First time with DS1 then 9 months with DS2.

NewMomma21 · 07/12/2022 14:18

I guess it’s a mixed bag. I feel I was very naive about how quickly it would happen and assumed because it happened quickly twice it would be the same again. I really want another baby, hopefully it will happen soon
