OPK progression - all negative!

Hi 👋

I’m on CD 12 today so I have upped my OPK’s to twice a day…they are all negative and I mean, SO negative I can barely see a second line.

I am just curious if any of you had a sudden LH surge or if it was gradual? I have short cycles 24/25 days so my Period tracking app has me ovulating yesterday, which didn’t happen. I’m getting increasingly nervous that I’m not going to see a positive OPK.

I should add that I have a 16 month old, so my husband and I did conceive in 2020 so I know that I didn’t have fertility issues then. I am concerned lack of sleep and increased coffee needs (plus I’m 34) might mean my fertility is on the decline! Anyway, I’m rambling.

LH can surge really quickly, mine does.

my cycles are 24-27 days and I ovulate CD12-15 but every woman is different. The apps just take an average guess so you can’t go by that really. Just keep taking the tests twice a day and make sure the afternoon/evening one is after a hold of at least 3 hours if possible

If the opk’s are stressing you a bit this could push back your ovulation too which happened to me my first cycle.

It’s good to know the surge can happen quickly. I was hoping to see a line slowly increasing in darkness so I could anticipate ovulation was coming 😅wishful thinking! I do struggle to hold pee for three hours these days (since DS lol) but I will of course try!
I will also try not to stress. Thank you xx

Mine definitely surges. It goes: no,no,no,no,no,no,no,YES,no,no,no....

There's no build up, or down, just a peak!

No problem 🙂It makes trying to DTD at the right time very hard, especially since my cycle is anywhere from 25-32 day! Wishing you the best of luck!

@Needtobuildabridge I bet! I’ve seen this cycle as a ‘test’ cycle so I can figure out what my body is up to these days 😅

I have had my LH surge today so I’m really pleased about that! It was rapid indeed. Negative at 6pm and a strong positive by 10pm. That has me ovulating tomorrow-Ish (on CD15), which is normal on average, but not so much when my period was predicted to be just 24 days long. Should be interesting to see if it impacts my luteal phase or not. Perhaps this was always going to be a 18 day cycle which is pretty long for me.

@Caterpillar132 your luteal phase should be the same every cycle so it could be that this is a longer cycle than normal or you have a shorter luteal phase. You will know soon 😊

@allgoodthings84 Thank you for your reply. I’m only 3/4dpo though tracker says I’m due on in 6 days 😅I guess I’ll just see if I make it past that date and perhaps test at 12dpo if no sign of AF! Thanks x
