Late BFPs

Do we have some stories about late bfps here?
everyone is so eagerly testing early and getting 8dpo bfps, but then there’s me … two days late for af but still no bfp. 🥹
just wondering if i’m still in or out already!?

Are you actually 'late'? How do you confirm ovulation? You may have just ovulated a bit later than usual this month...

I go by tracking my cycles with a app, plus this time around gp “predicted” ovulation on a certain day according to the size of a follicle. Obviously there’s a chance O could still be delayed … 🫣 but lets say it hasn’t been … any late bfps amongst you ladies here on mumsnet? 🫶🏼

I am 3 days late with af and did a frer test today and negative . Looks like I’m out this month 😭I’ve had constant cramps since Saturday.

With my DS, I didn't get a positive test until cd 42! I'd had negatives up until then. In my case, it was unexpected late ovulation as my early dating scans didn't align with my LMP.

I always measured my bbt and knew my luteal phase was 12 days (meaning that’s when my next period would start). I had a very faint line at 12dpo which was not easy to see. I had a bfp at 14dpo and then a darker bfp at around 18dpo. I wouldn’t test unless you’re actually late (and regularly track ovulation in some way, apps alone are not accurate).

I guess it’s an annovulatory cycle then, because AF is still not here and I’m on CD34 and still getting bfns. Hope period gets here soon, because I’m just sick of waiting. 🙄
Wonder what happened with a 16mm follicle (measured on CD11) … perhaps it changed into a cyst and that’s why the period is late. 😬

This is going to sound harsh, and it's not meant to. It's just meant to be realistic and not give you false hope. I'm pregnant with #3 and have TTC 3 times. During those 3 times there have been multiple times that my period has been late (sometimes as late as 40 days when I'm normally around 28-30) but the 3 times I've actually been pregnant I get a BFP by 8/9DPO on FRER. And most other people I speak to and read on here are similar. If your period is late and your tests are negative, you're not pregnant. Harsh maybe, but true. It's a horrible scary and miserable time when you're waiting for the inevitable period to arrive, and be kind to yourself while also accepting that this isn't your month. But that doesn't mean next month won't be! (Coincidentally, my first 2 pregnancies were the month after a vv.long cycle....)
