Confused on when I will be ovulating

Hello!

Trying for a baby but whenever I do the ovulation sticks they never show up! I have the app Flo, it says I will be ovulating this week.

But I know some ladies on here know more about ovulation dates etc, I spoke to my friend and she said I will be ovulation later, it all confuses me so much.

So my period came on the 24th and I am no longer on my period today, so it lasted 4 days.

What dates roughly do you think I'm likely to be ovulating?

Thank you, I just want to make sure I get it right! Xx

It totally depends on your cycle, do you know how long it is? You'll probably ovulate roughly in the middle of your cycle but even that's not true for everyone - I have a 25 day cycle and ovulate around day 14/15.

So really you need to use the OPK sticks for your whole cycle if you're not sure. Start now, using one a day mid morning. If they start to get any darker at all, do another mid afternoon. Some women get a very rapid hormone rise so if you only test once a day you could miss it. Good luck!

Yes so my last 3 cycles have been around 21 days, last being 22 days.

The flo app says il be ovulating this week but then my friend reckons they will be later! So I've been completely thrown off 😂 so confusing I think!

Ok il start the ovulation sticks from tomorrow I think and see how that goes! Maybe il do one mid morning and then again in evening! Thank you xx

Only way to know is do the opk’s and keep doing them as every woman is different.

my cycles are 24-27 days. My luteal phase is always 12 days and I ovulate any time from CD12-CD15. Most often I ovulate CD14/15 with a 26/27 day cycle.

my opk lines stay light until the day before I peak then I have a fast surge so when they get even slightly darker than normal I have to go on to 2 a day to not miss it.

everyone is different so your friend is only going by what is the case for her I imagine. Opks don’t confirm ovulation they just show the rise in LH which happens 12-36 hours before ovulation should occur. The best way to confirm ovulation is to do BBT to check your temps go up. I don’t do this though so don’t know much about it. I had it confirmed with bloods at the GP when I had other concerns.
